    Is it raining there?

For the last five days, I have been travelling a lot. I went to Vizag and attended a function there. There was a rain on that day there. Then from Vizag, I went to Delhi for a day. I witnessed rain there on that day. Then I came to Udaipur, Rajasthan and I was here for the last 3 days. All these 3 days it has been raining heavily in Rajasthan. Moving around is becoming difficult but I managed my work somehow and this evening I will be going back to Hyderabad. All these 5 days wherever I went, I saw raining. It is monsoon rain I think. The rain is continuous and the roads are completely in bad condition.
I expect other members to mention the rain position in their areas.

Yes, we have witnessed a copious rain in most of the places. Be it Pune, Hyderabad, Delhi, Ranchi, or Udaipur, the intensity appears to be the same. In Bihar and Jharkhand, the intensity of the rain was so heavy that at least eight bridges( 5 from Bihar and 3 from Jharkhand ) were fouled up with no trace involving a loss of crores of rupees apart from deployment of human resources after the cessation of the monsoon. You can imagine the plight of the populace especially when most of the cities in India lacked the system of water drainage due to improper maintenance.
You might have heard about the tragic death of the students taking tuition in Rao's Study Cirke Delhi where four aspirants were buried in a heavy current of water in the library located in the basement centre. They failed to come up the upper stairs due to heavy logging of water.
This speaks of a callous attitude of the management of IAS coaching centres located in Delhi.

Yes. I read about the tragic incident that took place in Rao's study circle in Delhi. Unfortunate. The governments should not spare institutions that are not taking proper steps to upkeep the safety and security of the students studying in the institute. Some minimum norms should be specified and an inspection should be carried out to see the steps taken for the safety of the students there.

We have got good rains so far in our area that is Navi Mumbai. Aaj mention in the local newspapers the reservoirs from where the water supply is made to Navi Mumbai area are already full with water and there will not be any water shortage during 2025 in this area.
Rains are the very important things for crops as well as drinking water and good rains are a sign of prosperity.

Yes sir, the rainy season slightly started in many parts of our country. In this situation my suggestion is not to keep the wet cloths as heap inside the house or bathrooms as we can give place for cockroaches, centipedes and other strange poisonous insects. When we lift such heap of wet cloths the chances of biting etc., are high. It is more dangerous if children are in the house.
Secondly we should not keep the wet cloths on the tables or wooden items so as the chances of encroaching white ants is high.

Thank you Ramachandran for your important suggestions. This should be followed by all so that we will not allow these unwanted insects into the house. My wife is very careful in this aspect and makes sure that the maid will remove such clothes.

I comply with the suggestion provided by Sri Ramachandran where he has indicated to take utmost care of wet clothes, especially in the rainy season. These clothes must be segregated separately from the already-dried clothes. Keeping the wet clothes in the bathroom invites cockroaches and other poisonous insects to loiter around the surface of the wet clothes.

For the last three days, we have witnessed heavy rains. Yesterday it rained all 24 hours and getting continues even now also. Tomorrow also heavy rains are expected as per the weather forecasting department. All schools in both the Telugu states will remain closed tomorrow also as per an official release of the state governments. More than 15 people died because of these heavy rains in both the states put together. Even some university examinations are also postponed. Both governments are trying to minimise the damage with their sincere efforts. Hope things will come under control shortly.

It has been a torrential monsoon this year with most of the states getting submerged in floods. Currently, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh are facing heavy rains that is causing a lot of damage to residents of these states. Rains always cause some distress to people but in the end it is also necessary to get those paddy fields watered. We can only be a mere spectator when it comes to nature's wrath. All we can do is manage drainage system properly and create a system to utilise this kind of rains in future.
Humble yourself or life will do it for you!
