When the king himself starts exploiting the public!

A country or province or state whatever the case may be is ruled by a top leader or king or administrator. It is the duty of the top person and his support staff to punish the evil and criminal people and make law and order in his area for the peaceful existence of the public.
But in some cases it so happens that the king himself is a cruel person having nexus with the criminals and uses them to loot money from the poor and common people. In such a case who will protect the poor and common people? How will they achieve justice in their lives?
What do you think about such a situation? Please share your thoughts.

What we are witnessing today in politics is the same as what the author mentioned in her thread, I feel. The government is exploiting the public and the rulers in the government or enjoying the benefits. We are paying taxes and they are taking huge salaries and perks. Added to that they are [ractising corrupt practices. The public is at the receiving end. But in a democratic country, like India the citizens will vote against them and see that they will be out of power. That is what exactly happened recently in both the Telugu-speaking states. If there is no democracy and if a dictator is doing such exploitation, oneday or another revolution will come and the king will be made to get down.
We hear about many kings who lost their kingdoms because of wars with other kings. But now there are no kingdoms and democracy exists. So the rules can't exploit the public forever I feel.

The point raised by the author is very relevant in the sense that the king is the protector of the people living in his kingdom. If the king turns into a bloodsucker by imposing a Zagia - tax as Aurangzeb had accomplished, where from the the common men get a justification?
Again by going through the days of British - rulers, we would observe a lot of cruelties committed by different emperors making the common men helpless.
However, regime changes from time to time which we all are witnessing in our country proving that the excesses committed by a ruler are not sustainable for always.

Comparing to other countries our India has many ethics and puranas and We have separate culture different from other countries. Our Indian History is vast. Many lessons we have to learn from the history, ethics and Puranas. The history, Puranas and ethics tell us one human, citizen and king how to live and how not to live. Thirukkural has separate chapters for rulers and citizen. We, if miss the morality, have to face the consequences what our seniors faced. It is good to see when we do erratic activities but when facing consequence the situation is pathetic.

That is definitely a bad situation rather say an unwanted one. Any head of the state or country or a small unit has to be honest and deliver justice to its people. That is what the public expects him to do. If he does things just opposite to that then it is a situation in which people will have to remove him and get a better leader. This type of incidents have happened in the past in different places.
    Knowledge is power.
