Are things blown out of proportion by the echo chamber of social media?
The recent comments of a popular Hindi movie artist on the movie 'Kalki 2898 AD' have brought divisive views and expanded a barrier between North and South Indian Cinema. The role of the Hero in the movie was much confined to a comic sense yet film lovers enjoyed it and the film was undoubtedly a mega hit. Part II would glorify the lead role of the hero according to the Director. The comments of the artist have unwarrantedly driven into controversy. Pan India films from the South have been successful in the recent past and any delicate comment would take another twist which one should keep in mind. Both ends should deal with such things to ensure the harmony is not disturbed.Any comment whether positive or negative should be taken in the right spirit and no colour should be painted to create trouble. Unfortunately, with the advent of Social media things are getting quoted out of context and the views of the other end are not being read where even a single word can be twisted beyond recognition rather than studying his/her perspective on the core point.
This is an example to put forth how things get into a fluid without dilution and such things do occur because of the fastest mode of communication today. Isn't it?
