Is it RAM issue in my PC or net speed problem

My PC is now very slow. o open a page I have to wait much. Not to say about sites which have large data base like banks, post office etc. But certain sites like ISC etc. open relatively faster.

Is it because of a RAM issue in my PC or the internet speed. Today I tested my net speed. I tested in two sources. The download speed showed between 57Mbps and 60Mbps .The upload speed in one showed Zero and 86 in another.
Regarding RAM, my PC had originally 4GB RAM. But after a few servicing they removed 2GB RAM as they said id one RAM slot is having problem and could not fix. Initially I did not feel much difference. But for the last few days I see the PC is very slow. I find it takes some time to respond and react. Sometimes especially in large sites it is very much affecting. Today I could not open a bank site. Generally bank sites open slow because I use the Kaspersky protection on them.

I keep my computer cleaning history and also keep security software and browser updated.
What do yo think is the real problem. Is is RAM or other issues?

The 57Mbps and 60Mbps are not very slow and these speeds are ok if we are not connecting many devices at one time. But upload speed 0 is very low. 86 is good. I suggest you talk to the service provider and ask to rectify the problem. It should not show zero. Probably there is some problem with the connection. Let the service person the service provider come home and see where is the problem. Once it is done I hope your problem will be solved.
Your RAM is having some problems I feel. 1 GB is very little. You should go for a minimum 4 GB RAM. Otherwise, you will be facing these problems.

Low RAM is definitely a reason but there are many other things that can slow down a computer.
There are many programs and applications which are occupying valuable storage in the computer memory but we do not use them and they are not a part of the system. Deleting them might help.
Then some programs keep cookies and other malicious softwares in our system slowing down many processes. A good disk cleaning and anti virus program might help.
Sometimes some applications especially browsers and big utilities like Microsoft or Google or Firefox or Chrome or Office require updating and after that they work better.
System update is also a factor but that might be automatically happening when we connect to the net so that does not look a serious issue.

It is definitely a RAM problem because you need minimum 4GB RAM to run Windows 10 or above smoothly. Even a laptop 15 years back didn't run smoothly on 2GB RAM.

You haven't mentioned the operating system you are running. If it is Windows 11, then 2GB RAM is too little and will surely affect the performance in long run. With time you will see more problems if you keep using this machine on 2 GB RAM. So either you have to increase your RAM or use some other operating system that requires lesser resources.

    Thanks and regards.

It seems the problem is with the PC. To confirm the internet connectivity part, you can try connecting to the same internet with your mobile device and see the difference. For that, you need a wi-fi router. If you already have a wi-fi router then switch on the wi-fi in your mobile device by turning off the mobile data and giving the username and password to connect to the internet. Continue your normal browsing activities with the mobile device and check whether there is any difference in the speed. As other members have rightly opined the RAM may be the main suspect but there may be some other issues with the system too.

You haven't mentioned the name of the processor your PC is using. If it is an old processor coupled with low RAM on a newly updated Windows 11, then surely it will be a slow system. The amount of processing power also decides the performance of your computer. I also have an old laptop with 4 GB RAM and whenever I use Windows 11 on it the performance is very sluggish because it has a decade old Intel processor.

Along with RAM you may have to check the battery too even that may create any kind of problem (unknown) to us.

One more point is that there could be some Registry problem.
We can clean and repair the registry by using a program such as Registry Mechanic, Microsoft
    RegClean etc.

    Thanks for the suggestions.
@Ajay Gupta, I am using Windows 10. My PC is not compatible for Windows 11. So I am just trying to pull on for some more time and then go full for a new desktop PC/Laptop capable of Windows 11 and up. Earlier RAM was GB. Now there s no possibility of putting a 4GB stick as the slot is for 2GB only and the other slot has issues.
@Umesh, My Kaspersky Internet security diagnoses and allows me to clean up and fix registry issues if any. I am keeping all those update and current.
From the above suggestions from members, I am more or les convinced that the issues is of RAM. But I am able to se sites like ISC relatively faster than heavy sites like bank sites etc. But sometimes in later parts of evening and late night, PC and browser seem to function faster comparatively.

While going through the resources on 'speeding up my PC', I found one more pertinent point and that is the disk defragmenting.
This can be done with the existing system or some good external app and what it does is brings the files in an orderly way on the disk creating less access time for processes which eventually increases the computing speed.
I think it is worth trying if you have not done that so far.
