ISC Sunset Announcement and Hope of New Beginnings

Dear Valued Members of ISC Family,

We want to take a moment to thank you for being part of our incredible journey over the years. It is with both gratitude and a sense of optimism that we announce the sunset of ISC, which will officially close for new contributions with immediate effect.

We are no longer accepting content in any sections of this site until we have our new website ready. This also means all of our revenue opportunities are coming to an end with immediate effect. Those who reach payment eligibility will be paid out after this month.

We do not know the exact date when we are going to launch the new website. Also, we are still figuring out what is going to be the structure of the new website. As of now, we know that Google does not like the way ISC is presented. So, we are exploring a new structure, new format and may be even a completely new system in place.

While this chapter is coming to an end, we are excited about the opportunities ahead. This decision allows us to focus our energy and resources on building something new, may be something even better. The future holds endless possibilities, and we are already hard at work creating an enhanced platform that will offer improved features, better user experiences, and more ways for us to connect and grow together.

We know change can be difficult, but every sunset brings the promise of a new dawn. We hope you'll join us in embracing this fresh start with open minds and hearts. Stay tuned for more details on what's next—we're confident it will be worth the wait!

Thank you once again for your loyalty and support. Together, we will create a bright and exciting future.

This forum may not be accessible after a while, so, those who are interested in being in touch with us can join this Google group - https://groups.google.com/g/indiastudychannel. We will share further updates and progress of our new plans through the WhatsApp group.

    Warm regards,

This is heartbreaking news, having been with ISC since 2008 and having a very deep emotional connection that goes beyond just submitting content and taking up editing responsibilities. So many wonderful moments were shared and friendships developed.

At the same time, as an eternal optimist, there will be no 'Adieu' from me, but a positive 'Au Revoir'. I have promptly joined the Google group and hope all our dedicated members do so too.

Looking forward to a rosy sunrise before the year is out. See you soon!

Hope, we will witness a rosy time ahead. I wish all the best to the ISC platform. Defining this juncture as the end phase might not be true. I am looking for light at the end of the tunnel.

It is a very sad news for everyone associated with ISC. I still can't believe that such an old and reputed website is closing soon. Let's hope ISC returns back in a new avatar with a bang!
    Thanks and regards.

An unexpected decision from the Webmaster. Anyhow, he is the person at the helm of the affairs. So his decision is to be respected. I also requested to join the group and am waiting for their email. Hope ISC will be back shortly with its new Avatar.

It is definitely an unwelcome information. It is almost an unexpected hit on our head with a heavy hammer.
Now in this regard I would like to seek some clarifications and many other members also may be having same or similar doubts and worries.

    1. The members had put in lo of efforts and time in posting their articles, QA forum threads and all lot. An opportunity should be provided for the members to retrieve and save their contributions of ISC for their own nostalgia and use.
    2. It will be a good gesture and a morally right one too to disburse the residual CC in their accounts as final settlement whatever be the amount. That will keep at least a small sweetness when leaving.
    3. Though euphemistically termed as sunrise, it is a shutdown absolute and I do not think a sunrise for ISC again.

    4. I think the many veterans who left ISC earlier due to compulsion were actually prophetic and fore-visionaries. They may have a good laugh at us.

    5. I make a suggestion to the members with technical knowledge if they can start a blog/website without necessity of much money, to rehabilitate the present ISCians-at least the more active ones and those erstwhile active veterans. There may be Whatsapp/Google groups but there will be limitations to that.
    6. As a goodwill the ISC WMs and Editorial team can debate and put up some suggestions for a new friends group/blog.website .

    7. The daily routine of the current active ISCians is going to be subject to a real disruption. Sometimes it can be a blessing in disguise too.
    8. I ask members to suggest where we can all migrate immediately to keep up our activity and engagement. Please suggest such sites and groups/blogs etc.
    9. I am not sure whether it is for others also, but I feel the ISC establishment has really betrayed the naive members by hiding real facts as they were very aware of the disease and knew it was not curable.

    10. I repeat my oft said stand- the world-real or virtual- is very large and every one can have a space there. Now let us search for such a space. Let us take ISC as a rental space we were using till now., and now the rental is not renewed, so have to move on.

When RSB was stopped everyone knew something was wrong. It was coming and now it has became a reality. ISC is shutting down with no future plans clear. It is very sad because many members have spent years contributing for this site. When I see the contributions of senior members and the amount of work they have done here, it pains a lot that all these content will be wiped out in coming days.

Actually, these things are happening to many bloggers all over the world because of Google policies change. Many blogs that were earning a living few years back are now unable to bear the expense of running the website. If a website can't recover the running expenses there is no way the owner will keep running it. Still there are bloggers who are earning, which gives a ray of hope for bloggers all over the world to keep trying.

Humble yourself or life will do it for you!

  • #782103
Frankly speaking, I was expecting this for some time. So, I was mentally prepared for such a decision.

I only want to know how I can retrieve my old articles and some of my forum posts which I created using my fertile brain.

Anyways, I have applied to join the Google group.

Best wishes to the Webmaster. Soemthing better will definitely happen.

ISC still has a very good archive with quite useful contents. It is still a treasure house of knowledge for many.

Hence there should be some effort and method to preserve these archives to be available for retrieval when searched. Or else, at least, there should be some method and provision to the authors to retrieve and take back their contributions for their own use and memory album. This has to be thought of in proper seriousness and earnest.

  • #782105
Best wishes for the ISC new avatar. Hope we all meet when new site is launched.

I fully endorse the views of Venkiteswaran. Many members who left the site earlier are phoning up and asking me about the site. I received 2 calls As expressed by him, please allow the members to retrieve their articles and other content so that they can keep as a record with them. There are some answers and updates which are to be still reviewed, by the editors. If they do that we will understand what is the amount left behind.
Anyhow let us be optimistic about the sunrise again after this sunset.

The thread seems to have some clue to what is going to happen. It is clearly mentioned that a new system is in pipeline and the current ISC website is not efficient enough to generate revenues that's why no further contributions will be allowed.

The bigger question now is about the content that has been loaded on ISC website for the past 20 years. Will the content remain or will it be wiped out? As we all know currently most of the successful websites are hosted on WordPress and ISC has its own website design which is not attractive enough for the users and not able to generate any revenues. Let's see what happens to all these resources.

    Thanks and regards.

This information is not disappointing to me as a new website on a different format was on the cards for quite some time. Tony Sir mentioned earlier the old format of this platform and the necessity of changing it. While Google keeps updating its algorithm for revenue generation the competition will also increase. In fact, that's what we see everywhere. Maybe it's the end of this platform but as promised by Tony Sir we are awaiting the arrival of a new platform with a new design and guidelines. Rise, fall and then again rise are all part of the game and I am sure that we will be able to get back a new ISC (maybe with a new name also) soon. As mentioned by Venkiteswaran Sir and other members, there must be the option to retrieve the articles/posts of each member and possibly there will be an archive, though I am not sure about it. Last but not least, the disbursement of the accumulated Cash Credits is essential and has to be done at the earliest. Awaiting the dawn!

    hi all,

We will be preserving all the content and might slowly move them to the website one by one, after careful review of each one. If your content is migrated to the new site, it will remain in your name.

    regards,

Though I have not been active here for a long time, it's still very shocking news to me. I wish the new version would be more interactive than the ISC.

Tony Sir,  I have a query,
I have some money in my ISC account. Is it possible if I can get it?

It is very sad to hear the news. Anyhow, I hope we will see the new version of ISC soon.

  • #782126
I believe that the new version will boost the views of new ISC platform and members would also like it and contribute. It is only a matter of time.

  • #782127
As mentioned in the thread I sent my interest in joining the group referred to in the thread on the same day. But so far no feedback has been received. Is there any issue I must address, or was I not given permission? I like to know the actual position.

Even I have sent a request to join the Group but got no response yet. Though I occasionally participate in Forum discussions in ISC, I always follow the Forum. It used to act as a stress buster for me. Now, I am feeling as if I was fired from a Company.

  • #782133
I have also asked to join today, let's see what happens. May be they are busy working on their new system. Even the cash payment that got announced isn't credited yet to my account. It's all wait and watch at the moment.
    Thanks and regards.

  • #782134
Wish for sunrise. I hope the reviewed articles were carefully transferred to the upcoming site. Being a long term member not even get any single payment though actually I missed the energetic conversation. Waiting for new upcoming. We not even know anyone but every friendly replies makes more enjoyable.

  • #782136
I am waiting for the opportune time when I will get a platform devised by the ISC management which will feature plenty of sections useful to many readers including students for their immense benefits.
Though I have sent a request for acceptance of my membership, it has not come as yet. Hope that it is to reach soon.

  • #782137
With this sunset I hope restriction has been put to raise new thread.

I thought of raising my as usual palindrome thread which I used to take photo of my scooter's speedo meter even if I noticed in the middle of the road stopped and will take. And at that time I used to think of ISC and ISCians but hereafter it will be mirage only. I have so many palindrome numbers with my speedometer which I am posting now the one I took yesterday.

I don't know. Forum responses are being accepted. But I have not tried new threads. No traffic. Nobody is reading our content. Hence I thought it is of no use to open a new thread.
As mentioned by you you have posted many threads on these numbers and many members actively participated in discussing the same. But that chance is not there.
We should be optimistic and wait for the new version. I don't how serious is the promoters. They may have many other important issues for them on hand. So how much concentration they keep on this site is an unknown issue for all of us. We have not even received a response for joining the WhatsApp group/

A Farewell to Our Digital Haven ISC (author-Chat GPT)

In pixels bright, where voices blend,
We shared our thoughts, we made new friends.
Through laughter's echo and tears we shared,
In this virtual space, we always cared.

From late-night musings to morning light,
Each thread a journey, a spark ignites.
In every post, a piece of our heart,
Now as we part, it feels like a start.

Memories linger, like shadows on screen,
In every discussion, our hopes and dreams.
Though the forum fades, the bonds remain,
In laughter and love, we'll meet once again.

So here's to the moments, the stories we've spun,
To the friendships forged, and the battles won.
As we log off, let's carry the flame,
In every new journey, we'll cherish the name.

(Note; The above is the poem sought and received by me from Chat GPT as a farewell poem for closure of ISC. I am posting it here as no new threads are now allowed.)

  • #782146
Thank you Dr.Rao for your response to my reply.

Thanks @Venkateswaran and Chat GPT for the poem which has the emotions we feel as a member of ISC carried for these many years. I can say I have so much inclination towards the forum and its members as we have shared all our memories of happenings in and around us and even in some threads that it will be a treasure to show it to new generations as a diary and hope it will be archived as I have written in one contest thread that grandchildren reading my threads in 2050..

Venkiteswaran - The poem generated by ChatGPT is lovely and fits nicely with our bonds and camaraderie here. It would also be appropriate for any friendship, I should think.

    Sarojah - nice speedometer palindrome!

Very nice poem was generated by ChatGPT. My sincere thanks to to Venkiteswaran for posting the same. We never met and have not even discussed it over the phone. But we talked over phone and we all developed a friendship. But now we are experiencing the absence of each other.

Can some member of ISC having a blog or having knowledge to open and un a blog start a new blog for the current active ISCians to continue the link and connection?

It can be done by the ISC establishment also for the temporary period till a new site is implemented and run. I think that can be possible as a goodwill gesture. Or else the google group may also be made and enabled for such interactions of at least the current active members who intend to continue the connection and the virtual friendship.

  • #782156
The poem formulated by Venkiteshearan Sir was quite amusing and created through the Chat GPT. This speaks of his versatility in keeping the members in the lighter vein even in this critical stage. It would not be a bad idea for the members to share the emotions of different members of the platform. Our relationship is so much deep-rooted that it cannot be wiped out so easily.
If such a facility could be extended to the members for sheer entertainment purposes till this platform takes a final shape, it could act as an elixir for all of us.

  • #782162
Venkiteswaran sir, I think we can try Social Village temporarily to post threads. Everyone may visit https://www.socialvillage.in/forum/ and start posting threads for the time being. I have already posted a thread there.

    Sankalan,

That is a good idea. I thought the same thing- that we could use the forum of Social Village to continue our association with each other, but Tony Sir had paused that site, and it slipped my mind to inquire with him whether we could do so. I will send him a message now and hope he permits it.

    Sankalan,

While typing my response here, Tony Sir clarified in the other thread that we can continue with forum discussions here without the points/cc counted. So let's continue here itself.

  • #782182
I am disappointed and sad about the decision. I have received a lot of mentorship from members, especially TonySir and Vandana Ma'am I can never forget.
I hope the bond that we have created on isc over the years will not vanish but will grow stronger! And hope ISC will be back in a better form and we all will be back once again.
It is a good update that we can continue on the forum discussion and keep sharing. Thank you.
