Remembering the Mahatma and Shastriji -Oct 2nd

Today, we celebrate the birth anniversary of two great leaders of India who are revered across the world for their unique and almost inimitable qualities and contribution to the nation. Time flies and we may be moving to greener pastures, but it is our duty and responsibility to remember and also pass on to the future generations the thoughts and deeds of the great Mahatma so that all are inspired and reminded of the value of the freedom that we are enjoying today. Lal Bahadur Shastri is known for his humility and his vision for a prosperous India.

Let us pay our tributes to these great leaders and pledge ourselves to preserve our freedom and integrity of the nation. Let us also, at this time when peace is at stake in many parts of the world, pray that non-violence will prevail, and we will get to have a peaceful world to live in.

October 2nd is a significant date for our country. Two great leaders were born on this date and both sacrificed their lives for the sake of our country. Mahatma Gandhi led the freedom fight and contributed his might to our country. Lal Bahadur Shastri was a down-to-earth person and was the 2nd prime minister of this country. He coined the slogan Jai Jawan Jai Kisan. He faced many challenges during his tenure as PM and come out of them successfully. His death in Tashkent is still a mystery and facts are not known. By the time he died he was not having his own house and the loan he took for purchasing a second-hand car was repaid by his wife after the demise of Shastriji. He never used his power for his benefit.
Both leaders should be role models to the politicians today. I salute both of them on the occasion of their birthdays. We all should learn from them how simple we should live and how we should help the motherland. They are very great leaders and deserve all appreciation.

October 2 is a day celebrated to remember these two prominent leaders who were part of the freedom struggle. This is a small due respect towards them for the greatness they showered on us for the independent India we cherish today. As we turn the pages of history, it's a history of sorrow, pain, torture, endless hope and commitment to free India from the clutches of colonialism. Colonialism was a practice in those days but we Indians living in a democratic country has gained the freedom of speech, expression, life and education. Even though there is positive discrimination on freedom of speech and expression but yet, it's for the welfare of the common people. Our constitution is a living document as there are amendments as and when required. Lal Bahadur Shastri and Mahatma Gandhi are the symbol of resilience and strength.
If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.

Additionally for TN and for Congress too this date is prominent as it is death anniversary of Sh.K.Kamaraj and would like to quote what Rahul Gandhi said in twitter that there is a Kama raj Plan where he suggested to Nehru ji that Congress leaders should take organizational work after leaving ministerial post. Also posthumously he awarded Bharat Rat na in 1976.

For keeping us in telling truth and non violence everyone of us should follow Gandhiji. For putting efforts even in small matters we have to follow ShastriJi.

During our school days though Oct.2nd was an academic holiday, we students had to go to school, assemble and go for the
"Shucheekaran' task- cleaning of public places and utilities like Govt Hospital premises, public ponds and wells, park, etc.
I think after Shuchitwa mission was taken as a national task mission, this is not practiced now n Oct2nd.
