Wish you all a Warm and Happy Durga Puja

The festive season is here and it is being celebrated in various forms throughout the country. Navratri is being celebrated in many parts and now it's time for the greatest festival of Bengalis the Durga Puja. Those who have visited West Bengal during the Durga Puja must have witnessed the spirit of the celebration here and those who have not should plan a visit during this time.

The Durga Puja started today and on this occasion, my best wishes to everyone in the ISC family. Let the blessings of Maa Durga be there with us at every moment so that we can banish the devilish forces all the time.

Today is the eighth day of Saranavaratri. In our state, we call today as Mahastami. Tomorrow is Maharnavami and Saturday is Vijayadasami. These days are very special. All organisations conduct Pooja tomorrow and all the employees will be given special sweets and generally a bonus will also be disbursed for this festival. So we see a lot of activity in the market. Saraswati pooja will be performed during the last three days of the Sarnavaratri. In our house, all children will perform these three days pooia.
I wish all the members of ISC a happy Durga Pooja. I hope all the members will have a peaceful and happy festival.

A country where women are considered Goddess, but still we have cases like RG Kar where justice is still pending. The way evidences have been destroyed, it doesn't look good at all. I have huge respect for our culture and various festivals that we celebrate but in the end everyone becomes a Dhristarashtra when a women is disrobed. I think we Indians should stop these showoff culture and just do what is right. We are too much focused on idol worshipping, which has dented our connection from the real humane values.
Humble yourself or life will do it for you!

I, as a Bengali with firm roots in Kolkata, fully agree with Ajay Gupta Sir and Swati Sarnobat Madam.

On this Dussehra, let us all think about the parents of the unfortunate physician of RG Kar Medical College, who could not participate in the Durga Puja. Let us all remember the brilliant, meritorious Bengali students who are fasting till death demanding justice for their colleague and to destroy threat culture in West Bengal's medical colleges and hospitals, countering all threats and enticement from the state government.

Let us all pray that Mother Goddess Durga destroys all evils.

I wish all ISCians a Happy and Peaceful Vijayadasami, Dusserah and the auspicious days.

It is disheartening to read reports of disturbances of Navaratri celebrations at different places in W Bengal and , at least one in Maharashtra and Mumbai.

The prognosis does not look good. That is why I consciously wished a Peaceful Dussera,Vijayadasami.
