Birds that still perch on the dead tree

Usually birds flock to trees with live green branches, fruits and flowers.

But sometimes due to climatic variation or any other reason some trees become dead. Usually those birds who were happily perching on such trees fly away to more greener trees and branches.

But what could be the reasons if some birds still perch on those residual dead tree? Do birds have some loyalty and gratitude? Or is it due to their optimistic confidence that the same tree will regain its health and greenery once the season changes?

In ISC also some birds still come back and perch on the dried tree or branches. Please answer considering yourself as the bird and ISC as the dried tree.

I don't think ISC is a dried tree. It is suffering now and hope it will be back with greenery shortly. The birds enjoyed this tree when it was green, and didn't want to reject it when it was in some problem. That is why birds are coming and just seeing the progress and going back. Probably, these members may not be finding a platform where they can spend some time.

I have seen birds sitting on the branches or stems and even on uprooted roots of dead trees. They get nutritive foods even from the dead trees.

Some members of ISC, like those birds, come back to the almost defunct ISC, but the reasons may vary from member to member. Some may come back due to old habit, some may come back to chat a little bit with other members and some may come back to reminisce olden days.

I occasionally come back to read my old posts, and, I find I can no longer write such stories/write-ups. My writing style has changed a lot. Further, I don't get much time to create something new.

Trees or plants can be brought back to life if their roots are still alive. Birds and animals, due to their natural instinct, might be able to feel the scent of life in such trees or plants and it might be that feeling that prompts them to perch on such trees. I agree with Partha that birds get some nutritive food particles even from dead trees. I have heard stories of people speaking to trees and spending some time near them giving them fresh energy and even reviving them. I am not sure about the science behind such experiences, but I think it happens.

I don't think ISC is a dead tree. It is just that that the leaves have fallen off and some branches have dried but the trunk is still strong and the roots are alive. The members who are continuing to contribute are like the birds who perch on this tree to continue their association due to their loyalty and love for this site and this commitment will surely help the ISC tree to get back its old form. When we have expert webmasters as arborists, let us be optimistic.

ISC's roots and trunk are still alive. We can see that one of its branches (Forum section) is still open here and new leaves are sprouting here and there on that branch, giving assurance that the ISC tree is not completely dried. That is why the birds (members) are still hoping for the revival of a flourishing and nourishing tree(ISC). So that birds of different colors and types, sometimes playing and entertaining each other, sometimes arguing, can spend their time on any of the branches of this tree as and when they wish.

I am happy that ISCians are very much optimistic.
When such optimistic forum-ites and editors are there then the expert arborist WMs (as Saji said) can sure bring back ISC tree to a recuperated re-nourished new life.

Let us all wish and rust so and stay hopeful.

    Venkiteswaran,

In response #782330, I think you mean optimistic and not pessimistic!

Yes, we are optimistic and hopeful. As I stated in another thread, I hope it won't be too long in migration as I am quite keen to be around to be an active contributor and editor once again when ISC comes back in its new form.

As for the literal query- I have seen trees devoid of flowers and leaves one fine day having tiny new leaves sprouting. I have also seen birds pecking at the bark, so they are getting food in terms of insects living there. Hence, a tree is nevery fully dead.

@Vandana #782335; "In response #782330, I think you mean optimistic and not pessimistic!"

Thank you for alerting me on the oversight. I have since corrected the mistake. Thanks.

As the author and others says I can take my example that I was not that much in touch in writing but I used to read most of it to get updates from members but I can say how much I feel and even shared my happiness in getting my name in top five in forum after a long period of participation.

In my earlier response I just shared as such related to direct ISC. But while coming to the heading, I can very well relate to my personal experience, during my childhood I have danced for a song as a sparrow searching for a tree where many trees fell down due to rain. Even that incident I have shared in one of the contest in ISC. As I could not search and get the URL and place here I request other members to help in this regard .

ISC is going through a transformation and members would visit here time to time to see the updates and other information. To that extent I also visit here.
