Let us try to write a sequel
Long back, I wrote a Forum post on micro-short stories. In that post, I mentioned about Ernest Hemingway's micro-short story of six words, which has now become world-famous. In that post, I also wrote about the shortest horror story. The shortest horror story was written in 1948 by Frederick Brown. Brown was a lesser-known American writer and I have not read any of his other creations. The shortest story written by Frederick Brown is: "The last man on Earth sat alone in a room. There was a knock on the door ...". The story has only seventeen words.
Now, the challenge is to write a sequel to this story. I have written one. My story goes like this: "Astonished by the knock on the door, the last man on Earth opened it. His faithful dog entered." My sequel contains eighteen words.
I request the creative members of ISC to write a more apt sequel to this shortest horror story.
