The reference of Tram in movies in other thread made me to come with this thread.

In Partha's thread on Tram in NewDelhi, Jagdish and myself quoted reference in movies, I thought of sharing this reference going round now. The Tamil movie Amaran is the story of real life of Major Mukund Varadarajan now people share another malayalam movie Picket 43 directed by major Ravi where the reference of death of Major Mukund and his daughter is aged 3 at the time of death.

Earlier too, in the movie Anbe Sivam Kamal quoted tsunami in his movie later people started referring when real Tsunami happened.

Members may come with such reference here to get inputs on entertainment.

Trams in Calcutta have been shown in many Bengali films. I am mentioning some of these films, many of which are international award-winners.

Some Bengali films where Calcutta trams can be seen:-
    (a) Mahanagar (1963)-----------A Satyajit Ray film. The tram represents the city of Calcutta itself, its dreams, and its daily grind.
    (b) Apur Sansar (The World of Apu) ---------Another Satyajit Ray film. In this film, the tram becomes a vessel for the protagonist's hopes and dreams.
    (c) Interview-------------This Mrinal Sen film features the tram prominently.
    (d) Kalbela-------------- In this film by Samaresh Majumdar, the hero (Animesh) arrives in Calcutta and watched a tram on fire.

There are many other films which featured Calcutta trams.

    (a) Those who have forgotten Noakhali, how can they protest Sandeshkhali?
    (b) Have no fear of perfection - you'll never reach it. ---------- Salvador Dali

After seeing this thread, I again visited the other thread of Partha Sir and saw the responses mentioned by the author.
I saw the RRR movie and cannot recollect whether I have seen the tram there. Anyhow I don't remember correctly. One very old Telugu movie in which ANR was in the lead role has shown a tram in which the hero and heroine travelled together.
