Thanks for the information given in response #782476. I have had an AdSense account since many years, and did not know that! I looked it up, and indeed we can close the account and get the balance, but only if the amount has reached the cancellation threshold, which is $10 for us as we are earning in the currency of US dollars.

- here again, we will need to have a great website/blog which will convince Google that it is worthy of hosting ads. That is why I feel it is best to play a wait-and-watch game. As of now, our content here can still generate earnings, however miniscule. You could make a final decision after a couple of months if you see no progress as such in earnings, and get the balance if you so wish since it is a good amount.
