This is the last and rare occurrence in this century

Like leap year this date also appears once in four years but it is limited. Today 6/12/24 is called doubling date and as 12 is the last month this is the last date which is called doubling date.

Earlier appearances are 1/2/4, 2/4/8, 3/6/12, 4/8/16, 5/10/20 and now it is today 6/12/24.

Let us enjoy today with double dhamaka with this doubling date.

Post your celebration and joy on these date and may be it is nostalgia too. You can post memories in the earlier centuries too.

Interesting observation. The author is very observant in such aspects and there were many threads related to numbers from the author. I thank her for the same. We may not see such a date again in this century as 12 months in a year. If we ignore the year, every alternative month we will get one date where the month will be double that of the date
1st Feb, 2nd April, 12th June, 16th Aug, 20th October and 24th December. Every year we will get these dates.

We can remember 12 December 2024 also as it depicts as 12-12-24. Moreover I cannot forget this 12 December as I critically travelled on 12 December 2012 in a car from Pondicherry to Chennai, that too in a heavy cyclonic rain. My car was running in the High Way in a manner of dilly dallying. Though my heart got beat badly at that time I enjoyed the situation.
Another special on that 12 December is the birth day of our Tamil Super Star Rajini Kanth.
However this time also the 12 December made us to sit with fear as heavy rainfall pattering on that day.

Jagdish patro's response made me to think. In the other format say MM/DD/YY we may get more such dates. 07/14/28 is the near future. That is 14th July 2028. 08/16/32 is next, 09/18/36, 10/20/40, 11/22/44, 12/24/48.

In our country's format next appearance only in the next century only.

Sarojaji, you are quite sharp in your response and I tried to work out the scenario before 2499 but didn't think of the other format i. e mm/ dd/ yyyy. Generally, when I fail to compete, my usual sentence in Hindi with my family members - Mujhe eisa idea kyon nahi aathi?

It's not praising, you are sure "Shakuntala, the Mathematician of ISC"!
