    Today is Mathematics Day

Today is the birthday of Srinivasa Ramanujan, the great mathematician from Tamil Nadu. His mentors referred to him as the "Second Newton from an Indian Clerk."

Mathematics plays a very important role in our lives. It is a very interesting subject and I like this subject a lot. Mathematics will enhance our power of computation and also our brain power.

Many great people from our country contributed to the development of the subject. The number 0 is an invention from our country which changed the subject completely.
Aryabhatta, Bhaskara, and Brahmagupta are also very well-known mathematicians from our country.

I wish all the members a happy maths day today.

In 1918, Ramanujan's health deteriorated and he was admitted to a hospital in London. At that time Ramanujan's long time friend and mathematician GH Hardy had come to see him at the hospital. The number of the taxi in which GH Hardy was traveling was '1729'. Thinking about this number, he entered the hospital room to see Ramanujan. GH Hardy shared his views on this number after seeing Ramanujan and asking about his well-being.

If we split the digits of this number '1729' and add '1+7+2+9' we get the answer '19'. If we reverse the answer '19' it will be '91'. Now if we multiply 19 and 91 we get '1729' as the answer. This is another special apart from this number is the only number to represent sum of cubes two different types, viz 1 cube plus 1 cube and 9 cube plus 10 cube. This number is called as Raman u jam-hardy number.
