The summer is going to be more intense than ever - stay hydrated!

The IMD has predicted an intense heat wave from March to May this year. It is likely to be more than what we generally experience in the summer months in India. It is essential to stay cool and hydrated, wear light clothing and drink plenty of water/coconut water.

Do you enjoy nimbu paani and other cool drinks in the hot summer months? What about kulfis and icecreams? Yummy!! Does anyone like cold coffee?

I prefer nimbu soda but no ice and no cold water. I take this with a little salt in it. I never like cold coffee. I like ice creams but I eat them very rarely as it is not good to consume too much. No cool drinks, even in summer. Sometimes, I take coconut water or sugar cane juice. Coconut water is very good in the summer. But the rates are very high now.

Already the temperatures are very high in Hyderabad. Going out is becoming difficult. How it is going to be in the next couple of months is to be seen. But there have been many warnings about high temperatures this year. I feel we should avoid going out in the afternoons so that we will avoid exposure to the hot Sun.

Watermelon, orange, and grapes are in demand in Hyderabad. Seedless grapes are also going very fast. As mentioned by the author, one should drink more water so that one stays hydrated. May be we may be experiencing record high temperatures this year.

Yes, warning has been issued by the authorities to avoid staying out in the Sun, especially between 11 AM and 3 PM. The temperatures will keep rising at least till the end of March unless we get some high rainfall in between. Low rains or drizzles will only help in soaring the temperatures. So, it would be better to stay indoors during peak hours and keep yourself hydrated. Normal drinking water is said to be best option. Make sure that you carry an umbrella if there are some unavoidable chores outdoors and take rest under some shade in between if you are walking.

As we step into the upcoming months of March to May, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts a scorching heat wave that will engulf the region. According to the forecast, temperatures are expected to soar, making the summer months even more unbearable. As someone who has experienced the harsh Indian summers, I can attest to the importance of being prepared for the impending heat wave.

It is crucial that we take necessary precautions to protect ourselves from the intense heat, such as staying hydrated, avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun, and using protective gear like umbrellas and sunscreen. Additionally, consuming homemade food that is light, nutritious, and easy to digest can help our bodies cope with the heat. Traditional Indian summer foods like chaas (buttermilk), lassi (yogurt drink), and fruits like watermelon and cucumber can provide essential hydration and cooling relief.

By being mindful of the IMD's prediction and taking proactive measures, we can mitigate the effects of the heat wave and ensure a safer, more comfortable summer.

The author is right. Severe summer is expected this time. The alert in all ways are important especially for children. The close attention on children from house as well educational institutions are expected. The school teachers, though it is followed in many schools, should made children alert from eating cold items, roaming in hot summer,
wearing caps while going out during their classes. Repeated similar advises may sullen in children but the way of telling them is important.
In many south Indian houses barrenly follow the practice of not consuming butter milk or cud in foods. As for as south Indian states concerned the hot is to be controlled by consuming butter milk, curd etc., in foods. For this there is a practice of supplying free butter milk in many places of South Indian towns especially in Madurai and Trichy during summer.

I don't know what's happening to the weather. It is extremely hot outside in March and I haven't seen this kind of heat in the month of March. Sunlight is unbearable at the moment although inside the house it is still cool. The climate is changing and winter is becoming shorter year after year. All we can do is protect ourselves by eating a healthy diet and taking adequate amount of fluids with all the essential minerals. Seasonal fruits are the best way to beat the heat and my favorites are watermelon, muskmelon, wood apple, etc. All these fruits are the best defense against this deadly heat.

Every year summer months hit hard and we experience intense alarming heatwave conditions, yet we don't bother to find a solution to minimize weather changes. We are responsible for this climate change, i.e., extreme heat/extreme cold.

Creating awareness about tree planting and terrace gardening in major cities is high time. Some research reveals that solar panels on rooftops can reduce heat and help in energy conversion too.

When coming to diet, we need to avoid spicy foods, take adequate water, seasonal fruits/vegetables, buttermilk, sugarcane juices, tender coconut water, ice apple (in Tamil it is known as nungu), etc.

This summer is expected to be hotter than ever hekateswitch .com drink plenty of water and stay cool. Hydration is key to beating the heat

The summer is getting hotter every year and I am afraid there will be no winter after some time. It is already quite hot during this time and we have to find ways to remain cool. I like Nimbu Paani and some cool drinks but too much of cool drinks may have some adverse effects. I like ice cream and kulfis but they give us temporary relief from the hot and humid conditions. Instead, we need to have foods and drinks that will keep us cool internally. Plenty of fruits, coconut water, lassi, etc. are good choices during the summer and it is better to consume fewer non-vegetarian dishes as they don't help us to stay cool. Unless it is necessary, it is better to avoid going out in the sun and if at all we need to go out we must take protective measures.
