19th March: Not celebrating, can't appreciate either

19th March is a very important day, both nationally and internationally. Members of ISC are aware that this particular day is celebrated/observed as International Client's Day, International Read To Me Day, National Poultry Day, National Automatic Door Day and National Backyard Day.

Out of these five, let me concentrate on the last two. Today is National Automatic Door Day and National Backyard Day. This day is a time to appreciate the convenience and safety of automatic doors (in India). Further, 19th March is a day which gives the Indians an opportunity to enjoy and appreciate the backyard of our residence.

In our Government accommodation, the doors are completely manual. In our residential flat (where we don't stay nowadays) also, the doors are manual, although my wife is planning to install automatic doors in future. As the wooden doors of our residence are manual, I am not appreciating/ celebrating National Automatic Door Day.

Our backyard used to be very beautiful. But, very unfortunately, the officer living in the ground floor has vacated and CPWD has been renovating that accommodation. The CPWD labours have dumped the 'malwa' (debris, etc.) in the backyard. So, nowadays, I am not in a position to appreciate our backyard.

I am not celebrating or appreciating our backyard on this National Backyard Day.

What about you? How are you celebrating National Automatic Door Day and National Backyard Day?

I never knew that 19th March is such a very important date. I should thank the author for letting us know this information. In our house also we have no automatic doors and all are to be manually closed. We are not even planning any automatic doors soon.
Coming to the backyard, we have a small open place behind our independent house and we have a few trees there. We will be going to that place daily and plucking the flowers to worship God. There is a mango tree and we got a good crop last year. How it will be this year is to be seen.
There were no celebrations on that day in our house and even many people may not have known about these special important points about these days.

What weird inane days are celebrated! Amusing to know about, nonetheless.

Backyards are a rarity in India and even those residing in a stand-alone home may not have one. As for automatic doors, the very frightening ones are those of lifts because it has been known to have them open but no lift to step into, possibly leading to a death.
