Nothing should be free except health and education. But in India, social security pensions are becoming a way for politicians to attract voters. In my opinion, these social security pensions are making people lazy. Old age pensions, unemployment aid, Dalita Bandhu, Amma Vadi, etc., are making people lazy in both the Telugu States.
Because of the corruption in governance, people who deserve them are not getting these pensions and people who don't require them are getting them. This is the irony.
Old age pensions are OK to some extent, as these old people who are not able to work for getting their food can be benefited with this help.

Money is a very important part of an economy and a country will never grow if their citizen don't have the purchasing power. Pensions are meant for people who are not fit to work especially senior citizen and it is the responsibility of the government to look after such people who have given their life towards the growth of the country. Income tax payers and people who have raised their family through years of hard work, deserve that pension. If not pension then old age homes should be there so that people who don't have anyone should be taken care of in their old age. Even developed countries have such social security schemes so why India should stay behind?
It may be a burden for the government but what else they can do? There is no other option because they will not get job because of their age. Also, in old age people suffer from many health problems and without government support it will not be possible for such people to survive.
Humble yourself or life will do it for you!

As far as I know, almost all countries provide social security to its citizens in various forms. In some cases, all citizens are covered. In case of some countries, citizens are covered partially.
In Scandinavian countries and in New Zealand, all citizens are covered by various social security schemes. In Sweden, the unemployed people are paid huge amount as unemployment allowance.

There are a few responses that have been mis-targeted.
Category-wise, there are Poor countries, Partially Developed countries, and developed countries. I do not know which category India will fall in these categories. I saw a short video regarding the Hunger deaths and slept with a half meal. they are around 2 crores of people who die from hunger every year in India. So I must say India is a poor nation.
Some people said that due to the corruption of politicians, are getting social security pensions is also an absurd statement. Nowadays, everything is a bank transaction. Out of my close relatives of 10-25 on my father's side and mother's side, 5-6 families are also receiving pensions because they are poor, and they are.
Based on the situation, humans in the society should follow an abelian group (Closure, Associative, Identity, Inverse, and Commutative)-- Bhushan

I would request any Editor (if anyone is present) to explain the main Forum post and response
#782868 in proper English. It is really very difficult to understand what issue(s) the author wants to discuss.
