Remembering the onam sadhya and Onam wishes.

Today is combination of many days viz Teachers day, Onam and Eid-milad-un- Nabi and on a lighter note samosa day.

I wish all a happy Onam, Miladi Nabi and Teachers day.

When I see many promotion for Onam sadhya across all social media I recalled my article of Onam Sadhya in this site and when I turn back I could see comments from Sun and TM Sankaran but sad to say both of them no more with us.

Also about Eid recently when a member turned here after many years with his forum I could recollect hos thread on Eid and my reply to him on the festivity details

My best wishes to all the members of ISC on this special day. Today is Teacher's Day. We come across and interact with many teachers during various stages of life. My heartfelt respects to all those teachers who taught me many things. My salutations to my research director, under whom I worked for my PhD.
When I see a thread from this author, I remember many of her threads which are related to numbers. In this context, I like to mention that yesterday was a perfect square day. Yesterday was a perfect square day. 4th September 25 is a perfect square day that 2^2/3^2/5^. Yesterday I thought of posting a thread. But due to some other work, I could not do that.
Best wishes to all on the occasion of Onam, Miladi Nabi and Teachers' Day

Now every festival has become just commercial opportunities.
The traditional fervour and sentiments have waned much. Onam time used to be a time for Malayali ( especially those working and staying away) to reach back their ancestral home and be with their loved ones.
The sentiments and situation was that of harmony reconnect and reach back. sumptuous variety food, new clothing and unity and reconnect used to be the core of Onam celebration. It used to be a real occasion to be joyful and festive.
This time I read in media that many people actually left their homes on tour to tourist destinations and other places.
The parcel food has terrific demand. Like many other festivals, Onam also is moving just to be a social media hype and online celebration.

Belated Eid and Onam wishes to all. I was going to post a greetings' thread yesterday, but got caught up in some work. Glad you posted this, Sarojah. Amused at 'samosa day'!

Teacher's day, like mother's day, father's day, and the like, is applicable to any day! We can wish them any time with sincerity.
