I am on time, IT department is also on dot real-time

Our government departments have really started working at great pace.

I am telling this from my experience with Income Tax department.

I filed my Income Tax Return on 4th September2025, sufficiently before due date of 15th Sept. To my pleasant surprise, I got it processed and got the order on 5th itself. As I had paid the correct amount of tax, there was no refund or payable amount.

In the case of my wife, she did not come under the tax payable amount bracket on a whole, but some amount of TDS was deducted by bank. ITR was filed for her on 3rd September 2025 .To our pleasant surprise, she got refund of the TDS with some interest on 4th September 205, that is next day of filing IT return.
Really good and to be commented upon. Well done IT department. That is how you can reward honest tax paying citizen. Keep it up.

Because there is no refundable amount that can be processed quickly. I filed it on 29th July. To date, I haven't heard back from the IT dept. Not all of my colleagues have been processed.

I also got my return assessed next day and got the intimation. Really, it is great that they are able to do it so quickly.

I have also filed my IT returns, and there is no amount to be received from them. But I received only an acknowledgement from them. My wife is to get some refund. But we have yet to receive the same. We both filed our returns in the 3rd week of August 2025.

My colleagues filed it two months back. They also did not receive a refund.

I filed my Income Tax return on 23rd August 2025 (Saturday) at around 11 a.m. I did not claim any refund. I was astonished to find that my return was processed and the order was received by me on 24th August 2025 (Sunday) at around 5 a.m., i.e. in less than 24 hours.

My wife's Income Tax return was filed on 5th September 2025 (Saturday) with a claim of refund of around Rs. 20500/-. The return was processed and the order for refund of Rs. 21210/- (with interest) was issued on 29th September 2025.

Yeh Alagh Baat Hain Saqi ke Mujhe Hosh Nahin! --------- It's a different matter that I am not in my senses, O lovely bar-tender!
