    C.P. Radhakrishnan elected Vice-President of India

    Yesterday, the election for the vice president of India was conducted. Mr. C P Rashalrishnan was the candidate supported by NDA. Justice B. Surarshan Reddy was the candidate for INDI Alliance. The NDA candidate got 425 votes, and the other candidate got 300 votes. 14 MPs did not vote. It is astounding to see that 15 votes are invalid. How a vote cast by an MP was invalid. It speaks about the knowledge of such MPs. There was a cross-voting from MPs belonging to the INDI alliance. The NDA candidate got 14 votes more than expected, I heard.
    CP Radhakrishan was declared elected vice president of the country. My congratulations to him, and I expect all other members to join me in congratulating him.

    I agree with #783305. In India, for any job application, a candidate must possess a minimum qualification suitable for the position they are applying for. Only through hard work can they earn that qualification. After that, to get a job, they must pass various exams and interviews!

    But, in India, a candidate does not need any special qualification to contest in an election. The primary criterion is the number of criminal offenses committed. Besides this, the candidate must also have money to spend — undoubtedly, they have accumulated this money through criminal activities. This system needs to change. The minimum educational qualification for a political candidate should be a degree appropriate to the position. Currently, politicians/ministers who have passed from 10th or 12th grade often hire assistance with educational qualifications like an MBA, MPhil, or I.A.S. Yes, Assistants must have educational qualifications, but what about the educational qualification of their Master/Boss?
