Modi has also shown interest in talking to Trump. He tweeted a reply to Trump's tweet in which he showed curiosity and mentioned that he is also interested in coming to an understanding with Trump regarding duties. Let us see how things turn out.

Masala deal, please, Modi. Talk to Trump immediately and get the deal done. One more great victory in your foreign affairs...

At this moment, it is better for India not to take any hasty decision to make a trade deal with the US. Trump is making contradictory statements every now and then. US wanted India to kowtow but India did not heed to its pressure. India brought GST Reforms to nullify the US tariff effect on our GDP growth. Now, Trump cannot do anything to India. He cannot put tariffs on Service Sector. In Service Sector, US has trade surplus with India. If he tries to change the dynamics, it will not only affect India but also US as well.
Nothing is there in his hand now. He is trying to pressure EU to put sanctions on China and India as he is afraid of putting tariffs on China. He had a prior experience of how China arm-twisted him by blocking rare-earth magnets used in Electric Vehicles. He asks NATO nations to stop trade with Russia and says that Ukraine-Russia war as Europe's problem and not his. If it is not his problem, why did he boast earlier that he will stop the war in one day? Why is US a member of NATO? Who prompted Ukraine to become a NATO member?

I already told you that if Trump really wants to put India in serious financial and economic trouble, it is as easy as removing a nail on his finger. Due to his inconsistency, his decision-making, and maybe his strategic thinking, we can't know and predict him.
India's economy is not strong, according to the IMF, which has been told to impose taxes on every item/product (i.e., this GST concept has been introduced). Then only they are giving loans to India. in the IMF guidelines, it is written
Countries in financial difficulty can request loans from the IMF. This involves an agreement on economic and financial policies (policy conditionality) that the country commits to, outlined in a Letter of Intent.
Pakistan is reluctant to do so, and they (IMF) are not giving many loans, so they are either going to China or Saudi Arabia or Türkiye to take on debts.

The United States is a major country at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) due to being the largest shareholder, with the highest quota and voting power, giving it significant influence over the organization's strategic direction and decisions. Following the U.S., Japan and China hold the next highest quota shares. The masala deal tonight is going to happen on Tuesday night. Thank you, Trump, for the spices deal.

India did not borrow any loan from IMF since 1993 and repaid all the IMF loan by 2000. How come IMF told India to implement GST on all items? GST is a recent phenomenon, not more than a decade or odd years old.
As I have already told, Trump cannot do anything to the Services sector, forget about removing India like a nail by his finger. If he puts tariffs on Services sector, it will badly affect the US more than India because the software industry is much intertwined and it heavily depends on India. Was he able to put tariffs on Indian medicine? Same is with the software industry.
India's economy is very strong. Ours is not an export oriented economy unlike East and South-East Asian countries. Ours is somewhat closed economy and much of the GDP comes from domestic consumption.

India is the third-largest debtor country in the world. It is also present in the movies as a dialogue. You can search it on Google too. No state has money. Everyone has lots of debts. Even the CMs of the state have already said that we have no money to do anything.
India has a higher total national debt, both overall and external, compared to Pakistan. However, Pakistan's debt is a heavier burden relative to its smaller economy, with a significantly higher debt-to-GDP ratio than India, making Pakistan more economically vulnerable to debt repayment pressures.
Debt Totals
India: Has a substantially larger total debt, both as a central government debt and in terms of external debt. For example, as of late 2024, India's external debt was around $711.8 billion.
Pakistan Has a much smaller total debt in dollar terms. Its external debt was approximately $54.50 billion.
Debt Burden (Debt-to-GDP Ratio)
India has a lower debt-to-GDP ratio, indicating a more manageable debt burden relative to its much larger economy.
Pakistan: Carries a much higher debt-to-GDP ratio. For example, its external debt to GDP was 35.1%, while India's was 19.4% in late 2024. This makes Pakistan's economy more fragile and susceptible to crises.
India's government debt-to-GDP ratio was around 80.4% to 83.02% in recent years (2024-2025), placing it within the top tier of global economies by this measure

Yes, India received World Bank funding in 2025 for various projects, including a $150 million loan for women's employment and entrepreneurship in Tamil Nadu, approved in June 2025. Additionally, a new report from the World Bank in July 2025 highlights the potential for resilient urban development in India, and discussions about scaling up World Bank engagement in Madhya Pradesh for urban infrastructure, skills, and nutrition were held in February 2025. The United States is the largest shareholder, followed by Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, and France, of the World Bank.

US debt-to-GDP ratio is 123% and China's debt-to-GDP ratio is over 300% and India's debt-to-GDP ratio is 81.92%. This answers all your doubts.

First of all, currency value is determined not for fun or any other reason. It is dependent on the present financial situation and also considers the current debts of the country because the Indian rupee is declining against the USD, which means India's economy is falling. Inflation is growing. Now, for example, the present flat value in Hyderabad for a 2 B.H.K. is more than 1 crore or 80-90 lakhs, at least in mass areas or slum areas, and the fresher's around 2 years of experience annual income as a software engineer (which is the highest-paid job in overall industries thanks to Western countries) is around 3.5-4 lakhs. When he wants to buy a flat, it is more than 5 crores to 6 crores, where his earnings will be 8-15 lakhs per annum. So when your earnings are less than the purchasing, that is called inflation in basic economics.

First of all we should know how an Economy works and Economics can't be learned just by knowing one or two terms in Economics.
Every time when Rupee depreciates, RBI will sell US Dollars so that Dollars will be freely available. When anything is available freely, its value automatically falls. That means Dollar value falls and Rupee value appreciates. But when US raised tariffs, RBI intentionally did not sell Dollars so that our exporters get benefit from the Rupee depreciation.
When I started my journey as a software engineer (but not now) more than 20 years back, my salary was in the same range what you mentioned for starters today. Average Government teacher salary was almost 5 times less than my salary at that time. But today starting salary of the Government teacher is more than a software engineer. So, it's a fault with software industry for not increasing its starting salary and it is not any thing related to Inflation.

The above comments are a layman's thinking about the determining of currency power of a country.
No, the rupee value cannot be determined just from stock market terminology, such as buying and selling. Key factors influencing these forces include a country's economic health (GDP), inflation rates, interest rates, trade balances, and political stability. I will add some more points after my lunch

Who told you that Rupee value is only determined by buying or selling Rupee or Dollar?
I have told "Every time when Rupee depreciates, RBI will sell US Dollars". It's an RBI policy. That means Rupee might have depreciated for some other reason (like tariff increase in this case), then RBI sells Dollars to offset the depreciation. But this time RBI did not sell Dollars.

Coming to the wages part, my father was a professor in chemistry. His last drawn salary was 8k per month in 1998. Now you all know on the site my brother K. Rama Krishna, who was a secondary grade teacher at Loyola Public School ICSE Syllabus, which is a Christian missionary school in Guntur. He has more than 20 years of experience in teaching. His last drawn salary was 35k per month in the year 2020, with a pension of 2k. His wife used to teach in a private school, which is the very famous Narayana School, and she has 12 years of experience in teaching. Her last drawn salary is 12k per month. Working hours are 9 am-6 pm.

Further digging into the wages part, the present Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, introduces several welfare schemes, primarily the Anna Canteen, whose objective is 5 Rs for food for the poor, and the second is free bus for women. In Anna Canteen, a media person came and asked one person, "What are you doing for a living? He said, 'I am a computer operator in a private company, and what is your salary?' He told 12k after getting 12k per month, 'Why are you eating here just to know how the food is?' Free women's bus: CM himself came and sat beside a lady and asked, 'What are you doing?' She told him she is working in flexi-painting in a private company. 'What is your salary?' she replied, '15k per month.' And CM asked how much you spend on commuting by bus; she said 30rs for each up and down in a day. After excluding Sundays and holidays, there are 25 working days, so 25 * 60 = 1500 in savings for you. The CM calculated and concluded...

I observe that the thread which started with a pinch of sarcasm turned to a serious discussion and curved back to less serious points.
PM Modi represents a large democratic country which has non-homogenous interests and expectations. But agriculture is a basic one for the existence and survival of the whole population. Moreover there is a ever-ready opposition which has only one stand-that is to see Modi out of power. This opposition was the main prompt and promoter behind of the tumultuous Kisan uprising earlier. At that time it was by sheer chance and practical shrewdness of the ruling side that saved the nation from further chaos and problems. Now the same prompting lobby is waiting for a chance to re-bring Kisan revolt. So on one side they will talk about Modi not signing the deal and try to lead him into a deal, and then with the same deal they will start a huge disturbance in the country inciting the agriculturists.
But Modi govt is sincere not to cause permanent detriment to our agricultural sector and agriculturists and farmers. That is why he is not agreeing to the deal which has mainly the Genetically Modified crops in the deal.
Let us not put the Modi govt by falling victims to the tricks of vested anti-India interests.
We should fully trust our government and make them confident that the whole country is with the Government in thwarting the selfish US interests.
As of now US needs India more or equal to as India needs US. So let there be a fair deal. Modi and his government machinery knows what to do when. Let us allow it.

"Moreover, there is an ever-ready opposition which has only one stand- that is to see Modi out of power". - Where is the opposition? Who was in opposition when Modi took charge of these 3 terms(3rd term running)? He is playing a one-man show character. The supporters, fans, or his admirers shut everyone's mouth by uttering two words, one of which is Nationalism and the other is Hindu . Instead of making India a great nation, in reality, they are just making India great by mouth publicity. One thing we must praise Modi for , whatever he did, the majority of the media and people are behind him, as in the previous governments, we never saw anything like this. Those who oppose him a political party or a institution or Individual have failed completely. They again on track in the bhajan program
