Yes. BJP is not able to make an impression on the minds of Tamil Nadu. No popular stars like Rajinikanth or Kamal Haasan support the BJP. Pavan Kalyan has no big say in TN. His charisma may not work there. AIDMK has lost its strength, and it is not able to give a big fight to DMK. So chances for DMK are high for winning the elections.

In India elections are simple mathematics of numbers. So a coalition with more combinations that can bring more numbers with them will win. There may not be a logical relationship with popular votes and number of seats too.
Moreover, for those who are addicted to freebies, the yearning will be for more and more freebies. Those who promise /give the more will get such addicted votes. It is as simple as that. For those who promise and those who expect and accept the long term damages are not a matter. It is a temporary happiness for both. For those who win it will be another opportunity for acquiring personal wealth and interests.
So as of now the ruling DMK side has all the winning factors with it.
There cannot be a paradigm change unless there is a sudden dramatic happening that propels the need for change.
But there is a silent move towards change happening. It may be slow now, but it needs some critical mass level to get visible change happening. We have to wait and see.
