In my view, the four most powerful women in the world!

As the festival of Dussehra, the festival of the goddess Durga Devi, on this occasion, in my view, the four most powerful women in the world.

    1. Madam Curie: Maria Salomea Sklodowska-Curie (7 November 1867 – 4 July 1934), known as Marie Curie (French), was a Polish and naturalised-French physicist and chemist who conducted pioneering research on radioactivity. She was the first woman to receive the Nobel Award.

    2) Mother Teresa: Mother Teresa, or Saint Mother Teresa, [a] was an Albanian-Indian Catholic nun, ffounder of the Missionaries of Charity and is a Catholic saint.
Mother Teresa received several honours, including the 1962 Ramon Magsaysay Peace Prize and the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize.Born 26 August 1910

Now come two modern, powerful women.

S Janaki Istla Janaki is a South Indian playback singer and occasional music composer. She is widely referred to as Janaki Amma and "Nightingale of South India". She is one of the greatest playback singers in the history of Indian music.

She rejected the Padma Bhushan Award. These days the people are behind on the recognition, but she left it. because the award is too late.

Jacinda Ardern, the former New Zealand prime minister, is a New Zealand politician and activist who was the 40th prime minister of New Zealand and leader of the Labour Party from 2017 to 2023. I can name at least one hundred great women who have achieved much more fame and contributed much more than the four great women mentioned here. It is not possible to discuss them all.
However, I would humbly request to replace the lady mentioned at Sr. No. 2 with any worthier alternatives, e.g. Maharani Ahalyabai Holkar. Because, with passage of time, the dirty secrets kept in the closet of the Nobel laureate are coming out.
Serial No. 3 (Nightingale of South India) must be replaced by the original 'Nightingale of India', i.e. Sarojini Naidu.
The lady mentioned at Sr. No. 4 should be replaced by Golda Meyer, Indira Gandhi or Margaret Thatcher.

Yeh Alagh Baat Hain Saqi ke Mujhe Hosh Nahin! --------- It's a different matter that I am not in my senses, O lovely bar-tender!

Many great women have made significant contributions to their country or the world. We all know about Jhansi Lakshmibai. Is she not a powerful woman?
What about our great Singer, S Subba Lakshmi? Her voice is second to no other voice I have heard. She recited many stotras without any mistakes in pronunciation. Such singers are very rare.
Many women athletes made history in their field, and I consider them to be great women.

I would like to add Arunima Sinha, a first women, amputee coming from a middle class family of Uttarakhand who achieved mountaineer the Mount Everest.

She was a national volleyball player, until 2011. In a train accident, she lost her leg but after the immediate surgery she went and met Bachendri Pal to reach her goal of mountaineering. She was not yet healed, even the she took her next step to join the base camp and also managed to get a sponsor. Finally she achieved her goal of trekking the Mount Everest and was awarded in 2015.

I would like to appreciate the never give up attitude, the confidence, perseverance which she had put up all through her journey to reach her goal. She is a motivational speaker who inspires many today.

There are many women who can be named as most powerful women in this world, but, should they be termed powerful only because of their particular achievement?Don't you think that all the mothers in this world are the most powerful women? Naming a few careerist women as powerful is belittling.

The idea of identifying the most powerful women in the world is always subjective, but it is inspiring to reflect on women whose work has transformed society. Marie Curie is an excellent example of scientific brilliance and perseverance. Her discoveries in radioactivity opened new paths in physics and medicine and continue to influence modern science. Mother Teresa's lifelong dedication to serving the poor demonstrated the power of compassion and humanitarian leadership.
In the modern era, artists like S. Janaki have shown how cultural influence can also be a form of power. Her exceptional musical legacy and contributions to Indian cinema have made her an icon across generations. Similarly, many contemporary women in science, sports, politics, and social service are shaping the world in meaningful ways. What truly makes these women powerful is not fame alone, but their ability to inspire others, break barriers, and leave a lasting positive impact on society.

If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.
