That is a real problem. In Hyderabad, such incidents are also being witnessed. Two days ago, a 7-year-old girl went out on the street. Many stray dogs started jumping on her. That girl started running because of fear, and the dogs started running behind her.
The government authorities are trying to control them, but what is their action plan? I thought such incidents were only in our place, but after seeing this post, I came to know that many are suffering from these stray dogs.

The growing population of stray dogs in many parts of the country has become a serious safety concern for both adults and children. While many stray dogs are harmless, sudden attacks and biting incidents create fear in the community. Cases reported from Tamil Nadu, Hyderabad, and other regions highlight how even a simple walk on the street can become risky, especially for children. The problem worsens when injured or aggressive dogs are left unattended.
However, this issue cannot be solved by removal or relocation alone. A long-term solution requires proper implementation of the Animal Birth Control (ABC) program, timely vaccination, and regular monitoring of stray dog populations. Public awareness is equally important—people should avoid feeding dogs irresponsibly on streets and ensure garbage is managed well to reduce food-based crowding. A coordinated effort between municipal authorities, local communities, and animal welfare groups is essential to ensure both public safety and humane treatment of animals.

If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.
