"I am ashamed of being an Indian. The country has spineless leaders," This were the words by NK Kalia, father of Capt Saurabh Kalia, when he was ignored by Indian politicians on his appeal to declare Capt Saurabh Kalia's torture by Pak army as a 'war crime'.
Well, if you read the details of the torture, you will be terrified by the heinous acts of the Pakistani army. They were hell bent on channeling their frustrations as a failed state on Indian soldiers. Captain Kalia along with other soldiers was kept in captivity for 22 days, and when Pakistan handed over their bodies to India, it was revealed in the postmortem report that they were killed after subjecting them to all sorts of torture. Their ears were pierced with hot rods, most of the bones of their bodies were crushed, their eyes were punctured, their bodies was burned with cigarettes, their limbs and private organs were chopped, and after all these atrocities they finally shot them.
Imagine the pain their parents would have felt on receiving their bodies, and what the Indian government gave to them, what we gave two them, two words of condolences? Is that all they deserve for sustaining the most tragic death to guard their nations. The Indian government hasn't even approached the UN to request them to declare these acts by Pakistani army as war crimes.
It is sad that even after numerous terrorist attacks by Pakistan, and even after such heinous acts, its we who rush to talk peace with them. I am amazed how weak our governments have been.
I really thank Mr. NIDHIN.P.K for reminding us all that happened exactly 10 years ago.
"With silence comes peace. With peace comes freedom. With freedom...comes silence."
