Elections over in Punjab, confiscated currency notes, liquor and drugs stare at officials

Elections in Punjab are over. By and large it happened to be peaceful elections, barring one death and a few incidents of scuffles between supporters of one party and the other here and there.

Chief Commissioner did his job well by making it a fair game to the extent possible. There were protests initially by the ruling party but these protests died down as the politician understood that the Commission means business.

In the process, the following good were confiscated:

    Unaccounted cash Rs. 33.66 crores
    Illicit liquor 31,947 liters
    Country made wine bottles 6,97,106
Drugs etc. (Poppy husk 2,641 kgs, Opium 1 quintal, Heroin 23.05 kgs, Smack 3.793 kgs and Lahan 2,27,588 kgs.)

It is a huge catch and shows the extent to which candidates try to go to woo voters.

ISC members may opine on the performance of Commission and suggest ways to utilise/dispose off the items confiscated.

It is not only money , liquor and drugs but also cast play an important roll in Punjab election poll.

Indian people don't cast there vote but they vote their cast. But as literacy rate is increasing the factors like money , liquor and cast will get low response.

    Dear friend
As per your data mentioned in the thread seems to be a great gambling to woo the voter to make them favor. I did not hear about drugs introduction in the election in previous elections. Today the different types of drugs placed in Punjab elections is very sad to be thought where we have to be and what for?
Any how the commissioner of elections would be grateful for his efficient work on anti-social acts
