
Unakoti in Tripura is the biggest bas-relief sculpture in the country. This is just a part of the sculpture which is said to date back to the 8th to 9th century AD. The site has been declared as a World Heritage site by UNESCO.
This particular stone carving is magnificent and stands 30-feet tall. The Unakoti is believed to be a historic pilgrimage site of the Shaivites. Nestled in the beautiful backdrop of lush green trees and hills this place attracts thousands of tourists.
