The Uttar Pradesh Urdu Akademi, also known as UP Urdu Academy, is an undertaking of the State Govt. of Uttar Pradesh that was established under the aegis of the Ministry of Minorities affairs. The institute's focus is to promote and develop the language, literature, and cultural aspects of the Urdu language. Accordingly, the activities of the academy include publishing academic and other books, undertaking translation and printing of Hindi to Urdu and vice-versa, conducting symposiums and festivals, honouring literary experts, etc.
Competitive exam training
One of the most popular student-centric activities of the UP Urdu Academy, Lucknow is to provide free coaching at its study center for preparing students of minority communities to appear for Civil Service exams. Food and hostel accommodation is also provided for free at its residential campus which has all the required amenities. Scholarships are offered to meritorious students.
