Apprenticeship openings at Indian Oil Corporation Limited 2021
Indian Oil Corporation Limited invites applications from eligible candidates for engagement as Apprentices in various trades/disciplines. Selected candidates will get a stipend as per the norms of the Apprentices Act. On completion, though, there is no obligation on IOCL to offer employment to the apprentices, nor can they claim the right for employment on the grounds of completion of Apprenticeship. Based on details provided in the application, candidates will be called for a written test. A candidate can apply for an apprenticeship in any one of the Refinery units of his/her choice.
Job location: IOCL refineries at Guwahati, Digboi, Bongaigaon (all these are in Assam), Barauni (Bihar), Vadodara (Gujarat), Haldia (West Bengal), Mathura (UP), Panipat {Panipat Refinery, and Petrochemical Complex (PRPC)} (Haryana) and Paradip (Odisha).
Age criteria: Minimum 18 years and maximum 24 years as of 31st October 2021 for General/EWS candidates. Relaxation of upper age limit to SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD candidates shall be extended as per Govt. guidelines.
Trade/Discipline and Eligibility criteria
1. Trade Apprentice - Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant) - Chemical: 3 years B.Sc. (Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry).2. Trade Apprentice (Fitter) - Mechanical: Matric with 2-year ITI Fitter course,
3. Trade Apprentice (Boiler) - Mechanical: 3 years B.Sc. (Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry).
4. Technician Apprentice - Chemical: 3 years Diploma in Chemical Engg. / Refinery & Petro-Chemical Engg.
5. Technician Apprentice - Mechanical: 3 years Diploma in Mechanical Engg.
6. Technician Apprentice -Electrical: 3 years Diploma in Electrical Engg.
7. Technician Apprentice - Instrumentation: 3 years Diploma in Instrumentation//Instrumentation & Electronics /Instrumentation & Control Engg.
8. Trade Apprentice - Secretarial Assistant: 3 years B.A./B.Sc/B.Com.
9. Trade Apprentice - Accountant: 3 years B.Com.
10. Trade Apprentice - Data Entry Operator (Fresher Apprentices): Class XII pass.
11. Trade Apprentice - Data Entry Operator (Skill Certificate Holders): Class XII pass with Skill Certificate holder in Domestic Data Entry Operator.
Note: Qualifications at all academic levels must be from a recognized Board/University/Institute as a regular full-time course in the relevant trade/discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST and PwBD category candidates for the seats reserved for them). For ITI qualification in the relevant trade, eligibility shall be pass marks. Only regular full-time ITI courses recognized by NCVT/SCVT shall be considered.
