The Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics, Pune, India
is an autonomous Institution of the University Grants commission invites application from eligible candidates for the following posts.
Name of the Post:
1) Scientific & Technical Officer - F: Big Data Scientist
Pay Scale: Total Monthly Emoluments Rs. 2,07,839.
Age Limit: 50 years (Relaxation as per Govt. of India norms)
Qualification & Experience: B.E./M.Sc./MCA or equivalent degree in Physics / Computer Science or a related field with 10 years' experience or M.E. with 8 years' experience or Ph.D. with 6 years' experience in high level research / development activity of relevance to IUCAA in Physics / Astronomy / Astrophysics or a related field.
2) Scientific & Technical Officer - E
Pay Scale: Total Monthly Emoluments Rs. 1,36,516
Age Limit: 45 years (Relaxation as per Govt. of India norms)
- Qualification & Experience: B.E./M.Sc./MCA or equivalent degree in Physics / Computer Science or a related field with 8 years' experience or M.E. with 6 years' experience.
- 3 years' experience in system administration in Linux / Unix environment, including HPC cluster system.
- Familiarity with HPC hardware and Data Centre infrastructure as well as fluency in using Unix scripting language is essential.
3) Scientific / Technical Officer - D
Salary: Total Monthly Emoluments Rs. 1,18,645
Age Limit: 40 years
- Qualification & Experience: An M.Sc. degree in Astronomy/ Physics/ Mathematics/Electronics, or a B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech. degree in a relevant branch of engineering, and a good knowledge of Astronomy and Astrophysics. Candidates with an M.Sc./B.E./B.Tech.
- should have at least six years' experience while those with an M.E./M.Tech. at least four years' experience in astronomy and astrophysics related activities after their above-mentioned degrees.
