4000 Assistant Professors vacancies in Tamil Nadu Govt. Arts, Science, Eduucation Colleges 2024
The Teachers Recruitment Board, Govt. of Tamil Nadu has issued a recruitment notification from for direct recruitment for faculty positions of of Assistant Professors in Tamil Nadu Collegiate Educational Service for Govt. Arts & Science Colleges and Govt. Colleges of Education through online applications. There are 4000 vacancies, including backlog vacancies. Note that candidates who applied in response to the 2019 notification are required to apply again, but do not need to pay the registration fee again.
The direct recruitment is for the disciplines of Arts, Commerce, Humanities, Education, Social Sciences, Sciences, Languages, Physical Education and Journalism & Mass Communication. Candidaes have to appear for a written exam, details of which are given in the official notification.

Eligibility requirements
1. Age: You should not have completed 57 years as of 1st July 2024.2. Academic Qualification: A Master's degree in the relevant subject/allied subect with a minimum of 55% marks (refer to the official notification to know min. for reserved category candidates).
3. Additional Eligibility: You must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test that is UGC-accredited, such as SLET/SET or have a Ph.D. Degree (refer to the official notification for details).
4. Language Skills: You must have adequate knowledge of Tamil. In case your mother tongue is other than Tamil or you did not study Tamil in any school or college, then you are required to pass the special language test in Tamil for officers of the Education Dept.(Higher Standard) having Code No.027 (Paper-I) and Code No.042 (Paper-II) conducted by TNPSC, within 2 years from the date of your appointment.
