Haripur is supposed to be an ancient place. Two major rivers in western Maharashtra namely River Krishna and River Varana has confluence at Haripur. Govind Ballal Deval was famous Marathi musical drama(Sangeet Natak) writer, who wrote his first musical drama at Haripur.
