How to recover your stolen or lost mobile phone

Nothing seems to happen with utilizing these tips. I have never found my lost phone back and as are many other cell phone users.

Have you contacted to Police Station ? They will surely help you. Also, If you will not give attention for getting it back then how you will get it back .

Nothing seems to happen with the police. They are useless people. At the first instance police will refuse to file an FIR for lost mobile and will say that we do not have much time. Just don't think about getting your phone back. I have never heard of any one who has got their mobile back. If you have got your lost one back, show my the proof and then I will follow your steps and get mine back. If you need my FIR no. I can give you the whole photocopy of it.

If you have F.I.R number then I will suggest you to contact the your mobile service provider ,atleast they can block your mobile phone so that it will not be reused by some one.

Pankaj, the tips mentioned by you are only good on paper and not pratical in India in other nations yes it is possible. I lost my mobile on 17/5/13 and since then I tried to block the phone through Service Provider Docomo the only reply I got was "We cannot block the phone" eventhough the IMEI nbr was given the only thing they cud do was block the sim. Its not a high end phone but I had major details saved in there.They are not even willing to provide the last location.Even with an FIR the service providesers refuse to trace or block the phone.

I had lost my android mobile last week. I was actually pick pocketed during a '10 minutes' journey in bus.I lost some amount of money also with that. i was so worried not only because it was lost but also it contains the scanned copy of some important documents such as passport, driving lisense etc. i mmediatey contacted my service provider to block my sim. then i gave a detailed complaint in nearby police station. i mentioned that the mobile was stolen. this makes the sub inspector angry, b'coz he did not wand to make an FIR on a lost mobile, (they told me so). He shouted and badly insulted me and my father, who is a senior citizen, he was very frightened. they accepted my complaint only after i removed the part stolen. I think this happened to me because i am a woman. where is the equal justice in India? where is the people friendly attittude of kerala police?
