Launching Indian Institute of Management at Tiruchirappalli, Tamilnadu.

* A news release from the Ministry of Human Resources, Government of India has stated that a branch of one of India's premier Institutions viz., Indian Institute of Management or I.I.M. will opened shortly in Tiruchirappalli or Trichy Town in Tamilnadu. It has also stated that efforts are on full swing regarding the launch of I.I.M. You may already aware that the Government of India has given in principle nod for launching 6 more Indian Institute of Management branches in the Country as part of Educational Reforms.

* Apart from Tiruchirappalli or Trichy, the Government has given permission to launch Indian Institute of Management at Kasipur, Uttrakhand, a place 30 Kilometers away from Corbett National Park. At Trichirappalli or Trichy the efforts are on, in a war footing manner.

* It is learned that the Indian Institute of Management to be launched at Ranchi, Tamilnadu, Raipur, Rohtak will become functional from the academic year 2010-2011 and the Indian Institute of Management to be launched at Uttrakhand and Rajastan will become functional from next academic year. To begin with, these Indian Institute of Management branches will have each 140 seats.

* In lieu of Indian Institute of Management at Kashmir, the Government of India has decided to give approval for two Central Universities in that State.
