My Engineering College - ITM

The experience I had in my engineering college.

I did my engineering from Institute of Technology And Management in Gurgaon. The first day when I entered in my college was obviously very much exciting and I was little bit nervous too as I was going to the world of complete strangers.

On the day one a set of rules were defined to everybody. It was later on I found that the college is very strict about those rules and policies.

For example use of cellphones was completely banned in the college. And violating the same will charge you Rs 1000/- as a fine.

The life in my collge was very much different as compare to the others, I mean the environment is very much professional that sometimes you will feel like killing yourself. You can't scream, you can't walk in groups in corridors and cameras are everywhere to have an eye on your each and every activity.

It looks like a corporate organization much more than a college. The other different thing is that you wouldn't get common break, that means you can't have lunch with your friends who are in different streams.

The cafeteria/ canteen is very much expensive, a middle class student can't afford to eat there everyday.

The whole college has become deemed now. If you have good rank in AIEEE, you can get through the admission process easily and can get seat there. But if you don't have good rank you can get management seat which I consider not worthy as college asks the donation in double digits in lakhs.

PlacementsThe placement of college is very good. Especially in IT companies most of the students are being placed. But if you are looking for other branches then I would say its better go for other collge, ECE is also good but the companies that come here are mostly software companies, you will find only 3 or 5 NON-IT companies which come for the recruitment that too recruit very few students.

All in all ITM is the ranked 1 college in Haryana, and ranked 4 in the Northern region of India among the self-financed Institutes. But I would say its better to get into DCE or NSIT rather than these private institutes as the fee is too high for engineering.

Besides engineering college is proving MBA, MTECH but these do not carry as much weightage as compare to B.tech.

About hostelThere is one small hostel for boys in which only first year boys can stay and then they have to leave in the second year and have to arrange a place for themselves. There are 3 hostels for girls but the same rule is applicable for girls also.

Sports There is hardly any scope for sports in this college, you can play just for fun, no competitions as such are there.

Thanks,
Eshant :)
