Today's students and education
Students, although intellegent and hard working face some practical difficulties in their workplace, what is the reason?
Hello,
Today students face a lot of pressure right from their tender age. At the age of two, they are sent to play schools and they attend the nursery at the tender age of three and hence continue to be students at least up to the age of 21.
Every year they study a syllabus prescribed the board. The main objective of the student's today is just to study for the exams and pass the examinations. They prepare for the exams by solving the model questions of the past to practice for the examination. They produce the same byhearted answers in the examinations and pass the examinations. But at the end of the year they realize that they have not properly and deeply understood the concept of any formulas, methods, or any other subject they studied. They do not get or manage time to study any concept deeply. When they get into the world of jobs, they should work practically. They find themselves in such a state how a fish feels when it is out of the water. They feel that they know the concepts only theoretically. A student who has scored 100 in accountancy but when he sits at a counter of a showroom, he is literally confused to see a number of books piling on the table and the accounting done in a complete different manner he has never seen.
The students cannot be blamed nor the board or the teachers who teach the student. Some radical steps should be taken to improvise the confidence of the students. Probably some programs should be conducted at the school or college levels to teach the students about the difficulties faced in the practical world. Probably most of the students are not aware of the special skills or the soft skills that are necessary to adopt to a new environment. The preposition of "charles Darwin" holds very true. He had stated in his theory that not the most intelligent or the most strongest spices that survive but the species that easily adopt to the atmosphere easily.
The education system should not be blamed but additional steps should be undertaken by the government in this regard.
The malady lies in the fact that the system remained enslaved under the Macaulay system, introduced centuries ago to churn out chiefly clerks.
You have very vividly painted the sad plights of the students in India since their very childhood. When it is time to play for them, they are saddled with 25 kg. School -bag on their backs which they can hardly handle at the tender age which is highly atrocious in the name of educating them.
Apart from many other reforms requiring to be urgently introduced in our present education system, the first and foremost should be to educate them to know God and love Him. The trouble with most of our schools and colleges today is that God has totally been divorced into oblivion.
Make God a reality to your child, and you will find that he grows in those true qualities of character without which life has no meaning or significance.
