One year classroom Dipoloma course in Learning Disability for teachers of mainstream schools, parents and , six months Distance Education program in Learning Disability and classroom program on Management of Children with Autism and Mental Retardation is offered by Information & Resource Centre in Bangalore
IRC announces the following courses for the calendar year 2011-12
1. Diploma in Learning Disability
This is a one year course with 3 months of practical training for teachers from the mainstream schools. The course focuses on understanding various dimensions of learning disorders and other issues that affect learning, their causes and characteristics. The course also aims at improvising instructional strategies at schools to achieve better educational outcomes and develop positive learning environments for all students.
The course begins from 30th July 2011, at IRC, Bangalore. Classes will be held on all Saturdays from 10am to 1 pm except on public holidays. The course fee is Rs.10,000/-(inclusive of course materials).
2. Distance Education Certificate Program on Learning Disabilities.
This is a six month certificate course for teachers/individuals interested in understanding various dimensions of learning disorders and other issues that affect learning. Lessons will be sent through e-mail or courier depending on your choice. The course ends with a week of contact classes and practical training at Deepika, a school for special children, Bangalore. The course fee is Rs.5000/-(inclusive of course materials). The course begins from 30th July 2011.
3. Management of children with Autism and Mental Retardation.
This is a six month course mainly designed for Shadow teacher and Assistant teachers working in special schools and also for parents of special needs children. The course focuses on intervention and management of children with Autism and Mental Retardation. The course fee is Rs.5000/-(inclusive of course materials).The course will begin in the 1st week of September, 2011.
