Himachal Pradesh is the biggest tourist attractions in India. Manali is one of the favourite hill stations which a person would love to go at least once to admire the scenic beauty of the place and keep in the heart forever. Manali is also a way to another famous destination Leh. While going on the way river Beas will follow throughout the journey. Long time back Manu found a tiny fish in his bathing water. The fish told Manu to serve her for one day it would be great for him. Manu cared for the fish till the day it grew so huge that he has to release it into the sea. Fish warned Manu of catastrophe that the entire world would be submerged. Manu and seven sages were towed safety by the fish which actually is first avatar of Lord Vishnu. Finally Manu's ark came to a hill side and the place was named Manali after his name.
How to reach by road
Chandigarh to Manali – Chandigarh to Manali is well connected with the road though there is no train route on this way.
Delhi to Manali – Nearest railway station is Chandigarh from Delhi and from Chandigarh bus can be hired. There are direct buses from Delhi to Manali and back.

Places to visit in Manali
1)Club House: Club house is 2 km away from the main city. It consists of many indoor games facilities like table tennis, badminton, roller skating rink, an auditorium, billiards rooms, a library, a bar and restaurant and adventure park for children.
2)Arjun Gufa: It is 4km away from the town heading towards Naggar. It is a cave above the road where Arjun has meditated.
3) Jagat Sukh: It is about 6 km from the main city towards Naggar where there are many temples of Lord Shiva and Arjun Gufa is also closely located to the place.
4)Hadimba Devi temple: It is the only temple of Devi Hadimba. It has Pagoda shaped roof structure and also the doorway is carved with historical symbols and sketches. It is surrounded by wooden forest of deodar trees. It was built in 1533 A.D.
5)Solang valley: Solang valley is about 12 km from Manali. It is a favourite place for the people who want to learn skiing and paragliding. In summers only paragliding is done here and during winters skiing is the one which dominates.
6)Nehru Kund: It is named after Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who use to drink water from this kund during his visit to Manali. It is about 5 km from the city.
7)Vashishta Hot water Springs: It is a village on the way to Rohtang pass. It is famous for its hot water springs. Facilities have been added here to take bath also.
8)Kothi: Kothi is near 13 km from Manali. It is favourite destination for Bollywood people for film making.
9)Rohtang pass: Rohtang is 51 km away from Manali and is on way to Leh. It gives a breathtaking view of many snow clouded mountains. It is only open in June to October.
