Ice skating in Himachal Pradesh-


Ice skating is the sport in which player moves on snow tracks with the help of skates. This sport is gaining popularity day by day.

Where we can enjoy ice skating in Himachal Pradesh?


Shimla enjoys the only natural ice skating rink in Asia. Every year, The Shimla Ice skating club organises the ice skating carnival from the month of December to February.
For ice skating lovers this is an excellent platform to have fun.


Skiing in Himachal Pradesh-


Skiing is another winter sport in which player travels over snow with the help of skis. In Himachal skiing was started in early 1930s.

Where we can enjoy skiing?


There are mainly three places in Himachal where one can enjoys skiing-
  • Manali-

  • Ideal time for skiing in manali is from December to March. It is an ideal place for beginners and experts for skiing. Famous places for skiing include Manali, Solang valley and Guaba slopes.

  • Kufri-

  • Kufris is one of the oldest places for skiing in Himachal Pradesh. Ideal time for skiing is from December to February. Mahasu ridge is the spot for skiing in Kufri.

  • Narkanda-

  • Hatu peak slope of Narkanda is ideal place for skiers. Skiing in Narkanda started in 1980s.


    River rafting in Himachal Pradesh-


    The rivers of Himachal Pradesh provide ample opportunities for those who love river rafting. River rafting is always a sport which releases lots adrenaline in the body.

  • Satluj river near Shimla

    Dhauladhar and Pir panjal ranges between Shimla and Kullu.
    Trans Himalayan regions of Kinnaur, Lahaul and Spiti also provide good opportunity of trekking for professionals.


    Golf-


    Himachal also doesn't disappoint those who love golf. From the last few years it has emerges out as an excellent place for this sport. There are two places in Himachal where one can enjoys golf-

  • Naldera-

  • It is situated 22 km away from Shimla. It is considered as one of the most challenging golf courts of India. It is a par 68, 9 hole golf course.

  • Annadale-

  • It is also a 9 hole golf course and also situated 22 km away from Shimla. This golf course is maintained by the Army.



    Paragliding-


    Paragliding is a new sport emerging in Himachal Pradesh. Places where Paragliding is held includes-
  • Budha Dhar near Bilaspur

  • Kullu valley

  • Intkali near rohru

    Heli skiing-
