Pithoragarh Janpad, a district town of Uttaranchal state situated on the Himalyan Mountain occupies a special importance for being an international border. Champavat: Situated 76 km away from Pithoragarh at a height of 1615 meter was the capital of Chandra kings during the olden times. Now Champavat is a tehsil of Pithoragarh the office of which is located in a fort.

Devidhura: Situated at a distance of 45 km from Lohaghat, Devidhura is situated at a height of 2500 meter from the sea level. Agreat fare is held here in the Barahi temple on the 'Rakshabandhan' day.

Chaukodi: This place is famous for its tea gardens which was developed by the English and is situated 112 km away from Pithoragarh. The mist enveloping the mountain peaks and the chirping of the birds augment the thrills of the environs of this valley. You can watch the heart throbbing sceneries covered with snow of Trishul, Nandadevi, Panchkuli, Nandakote and Chaukhamba. Here the scene of sunrise and sunset are eye catching. Gangoli Hat: 77 km away from Pithoragarh, there is one oldest Kali temple in Gangoli hat where a huge fare is held during the Navratra times.

Patal Bhuvneshwar: The place is situate at a distance of 147 km from Pithoragarh and 14 km away from the Gagotri hat. These attract the tourists the most. The underground caves extend far off in a natural way. Lighting arrangements are adequately done to visit these caves.

Berinag: 102 km away Pithoragarh, Berinag is situated at a height of 1720 meter from which the scene of the Himalyan range mountain is breath taking.

Moonsyari: It is located 154 km away from Pithoragarh at a height of 7000 meter in the route to the Milam glacier from where the Panchchuli mountain range and Gori river are worth watching. This is the base camp for the tourists visiting Nawid and Ralam glaciers. The best time to visit the place is August and September.

Lohaghat: This is situated at 1706 km above the sea level and is 62 km away from Pithoragarh. The place situated at the banks of Lohavati River has a significant importance for the archaeology department of India.

Jaul GB: A massive fare is organised on this place, every year round in the month of November at the confluence of Gori and Kali Rivers. People from Nepal also throng the place. There are PWD rest houses for the tourists for staying here.

Milam glacier: This glacier situated at a distance of 208 km away from Pithoragarh is permitted for tracking up to a stretch of 54 km.

Whenever you descend visiting, keep a constant watch over your luggage. Do never let your children go alone anywhere because this tourist place surrounded with mountain and valleys. In earlier times the hill districts in Uttarakhand region were not connected to the outside world as they are connected today through highways, roads, helicopter service, taxis, and other such facilities. So people were not aware about the beauty and picturesque surroundings in those places. Now these places are becoming a favourite tourist destinations and a large number of people are visiting there. Hotels and modern facilities are available to the tourists and a variety of food including the local taste is also available. Many people go by their own conveyance and enjoy the journey by stopping at the beautiful locales on the way.
One can get a very good scenery of Himalayan range from Pithoragarh town itself and can visit some nearby hill tops to appreciate the Himalayan range. The best time to visit these areas is summer and the beginning part of the autumn. Rainy season and winter is to be avoided.
One thing specific about Pithoragarh town is that it is situated in a very big undulating valley surrounded by mighty mountains on almost all sides and there is a huge scope of outing, trekking, and having picnics at various locations.
Pithoragarh is a border district and is touching China and Nepal in northern and eastern sides respectively.
