Role Of Non Formal Education In India
In the article ,I am discussing about the classification of Indian education .Indian education can be classified into two categories-(a) Formal and (b)Non formal education. Both categories of education are important for our country because they are made for each others.
Formal education means it is study in a particular place. For example collage, school etc. it has a systemic process of study. Formal education covered a syllabus where as non formal education totally different from formal educationNon formal education in India
Introduction of non formal education
Non formal education means education which is incidentals. It is the education that one gets from outside the classroom. Non formal education is defined as sum of all experiences that an individual gets throughout his life form the various institution like the family, peer group, religion mass media association parties etc
It takes the place consciously by living with other. Non formal education is not important in the schools .it is indirect and not deliberates. There are no regular time tables and special curriculum rules regulations and examination procedure .object of this education system are not clearly defined. In the non formal education have no particular age limit is fixed for type of education.
Objective of non formal education
It has definite aims and object to achieve. There are following objective and aim of non formal education.
1> It is imparted outside the school collages helpful for illiterates, semi-literates to others.
2> It is organized systemically deliberate education.
3> It has wide ranging no age limit.
4> It is designed for outside of school children youth and others, specific time and table.
5> Flexible student enjoy little freedom supports formal education, course education, well planned and organized.
6> Agencies of non formal education are press library, TV, Radio, Home Society and cinema.
Importance of non formal education
It is useful to literate, semiliterate to achieve total literacy in India and solve poverty and unemployment problems. Solve the social problems for the promotion of culture, social values and heritages. to promote nation development ans support supplement format education through literacy programs. To enrich the knowledge skill and abilities and also attitudes as compare formal educations that means it support the formal education.
Need of non formal education in our country
There are following reason for the requirement of non formal education in our country.
1> Meet over growing demand for education.
2> Give education to out of school children, adults, youths etc
3> Impart the life skill education and life long education.
4> It helps to perfect human resources.
5> Minimize the wastage and stagnation in education by direct means.
6>Enhance values skill competency in the vacation and productivity
7> State government and central government can fulfill constitutions obligations in importing education through NFE in addition to formal education program.
Conclusion
Non formal education is party deliberate and party incidental .it support for education, correspondence courses, summer vacation course, continuation education course ,open university and distance education.
Non formal education developed by Radio, TV, Satellite programs.. It caters to needs of employed and unemployed people and outside of school children. This is a new approach to education with flexibility time age group, place of education, curriculum, admission procedure etc. It is a long life education system
