Details of Common Admission Test (CAT)

CAT has become the premier entrance exam for MBA admissions in India. JMET was required for MBA admissions in the IIT like the IIT Delhi, IIT Kharagpur and so on. Details of Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT)

XLRI Xavier Labour Relations Institute, Jamshedpur is ranked 10th in the top 10 B-schools in India. This institute has been conducting its own entrance test for MBA admissions. The XAT scores are also accepted by various Xavier institutes for management as mentioned below. Also, the Loyola Institutes in Mumbai and Chennai accept XAT for MBA admissions. Similar to CAT, XAT is also based on testing the aptitude of the test taker along with verbal and quantitative skills. Details of Symbiosis National Aptitude Test(SNAP)

SNAP is the short form of Symbiosis National Aptitude Test. SNAP is an all India examination like CAT and XAT which also assesses the aptitude, verbal and quantitative skills of the test takers. But unlike the CAT and XAT, SNAP is held all over India on a single date. This date is generally the third Sunday in the month of December. The SNAP results are declared by March the next year. The various sections of the SNAP include General English, Verbal Reasoning, Verbal Ability, Current Affairs and Business Scenario. There is negative marking in the SNAP examination.

SNAP scores are accepted by all the Symbiosis Institutes which include the SIBM Pune, which is ranked 12th in the top 20 B-schools in India. Also, the Symbiosis Centre for Management & Human Resource Development (SCMHRD) which is ranked 13th in the top 20 B-schools in India takes SNAP scores for admission. Details of National Management Aptitude Test (NMAT)

NMAT (National Management Aptitude Test) is the entrance exam required for the admissions to numerous management degree programs in Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai. NMIMS is ranked 11th in the top 20 B-schools list in India. Hence the NMAT is taken by huge number of MBA aspirants across India. But the NMAT scores are useful only to apply to the NMIMS College. Nevertheless, NMAT was taken by more than 50,000 MBA aspirants in India for just a mere 300 seats in NMIMS making it the most competitive exam in India. NMAT is held in December at more than 20 test centres all over India. The results are out in February or March depending on the number of applicants. After initial round of NMAT scores, the next round includes group discussions, presentations and personal interview. After all the rounds, the final selection is done based on the cumulative score of the students.
