Apart from regular education, many of universities are providing educational facilities for working professionals. Here in this article, I would like to share the details of Admissions in Osmania University for part-time ME/M.Tech course.
Details of the courses and eligibility conditions
Osmania University is offering Engineering PG courses in part-time mode. It has designed ME/M.Tech programs for the candidates having two years of working experience. These courses will be helpful for the growth in career and for enhancing skills.
The OsmanIa University offered ME/M.Tech part-time course period is 6 semesters (three years). Classes will be conducted at evenings for the convenient of working professionals. No scholarship will be provided for these candidates. Osmania University is offering the courses under the Continuing Engineering Education Programs(CEEP) in self supporting method.
Candidates have to done BE/B Tech in the concerned specialization. Candidates passed AMIE/AMIETE; the equal qualifications are also eligible for applying. For M Tech courses, all branches candidates that processed B.E/B Tech degree and candidates having the qualification in M Sc Physics/Statistics/ Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics/ Applied Physics/Geophysics/ Computer Science/ Electronics and MCA are eligible for apply.
Candidate should have at-least 2 years of working experience till 30 June 2012. Experience will be calculated from the date of attaining their degrees.
Details of the available seats in each course and specialization
15 seats are available in the specialization of Structural Engineering in M.E Civil Engineering course. 15 seats are available under the specialization of Water resource engineering and 15 seats are available under Transportation Engineering in the same M.E Civil engineering course.
15 seats are available under the specialization of Industrial drives and control in M.E Electrical Engineering course. 15 seats are available in M.E Electrical Engineering course under the Power systems specialization.
15 seats are available under the specialization of Digital systems Engineering in M.E Electronics and Electrical Engineering(ECE). 15 seats under Systems and Signal Processing are available in the M.E (ECE)course.
Same 15 seats are available in the course of M.E Mechanical engineering course under Production Engineering, Automation&Robotics and Turbo machinery specialization.
15 seats are available under the specialization of Computer Science and Engineering in the course of Computer Science and Engineering.
Selection Procedure
Selection of the candidates will be done based on the marks scored in the entrance examination. A total of 120 questions will be asked in the examination, the time-period for the examination is 120 minutes. Questions will be in objective type multiple choices and are asked normally in the range B Tech syllabus. Counseling will be conducted for the candidates that have passed the written examination. Counseling will be done in University College of Engineering and Osmania University.
Fee structure and Address for communication
The tuition fee for first semester is 18,000 and fee for internet, Library and other facilities is 6,000 rupees. Hence the total fee that has to pay at the time of the admission through cash is 24,000.
Applications have to be downloaded from Osmania University or College of Engineering website. Registration fee for the application is rupees 1000. Filled in application forms have to be sent to the below given address through post.

Last date for receiving applications: 8 June, 2012. Last date for receiving applications with a fine of 500 rupees: 13 June, 2012 Entrance examination: 8 July, 2012 for CSE candidates and 7 July, 2012 for other branches candidates Counseling: First phase of counseling on July21, 2012 and if still seats remains, second phase of counseling will be conducted on July28, 2012.
