The Durgadevi Saraf Institute of Management Studies (DSIMS) invites applications from working executives for its 3-year master's management programs for the 2012-2015 session.


The DSIMS offers a variety of management programs which are affiliated to the University of Mumbai. The programs offer specializations as per aspiring careers in a specific sector, including finance, marketing, HR, operations & systems.

Features of 2012 DSIMS master's degree programs for working executives

  • There are 3 part-time Master's Degree courses:
    (1) Masters in Marketing Management (MMM)
    (2) Masters in Finance Management (MFM)
    (3) Masters in Human Resources Development (MHRDM)
  • All the courses are designed by the University of Mumbai and are approved By Govt. of Maharashtra, DTE.
  • All the courses are scheduled for week-ends so that working executives can attend the courses. Timings are: (1) Friday: 6.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m; (2) Saturday: 2.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.; (3) Sunday: 10.30 a.m. – 6.30 p.m.
  • Course structure: During the first 3 semesters, the course structure is same for all disciplines, with 17 courses over 18 months. These courses provide knowledge in the basic foundations of management. The executive follows a specific field of specialization in the 4th & 5th semesters. During the final semester, the executives are imparted training in contemporary areas of management.

  • Eligibility criteria:
    (1) Candidate should have acquired a Bachelor's degree or Post Graduate degree from an institute recognized by the Association of Indian Universities with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and
    (2) Candidate should have a minimum of 2 yeas of work experience.

    Fees: You have to pay Rs. 55,000/- per year, to be paid the form of a Demand Draft or a Pay Order drawn in favor of "RS DSIMS", payable at Mumbai.

    How to apply for 2012 DSIMS master's degree programs for working executives

    1. Download the admission application form from the official website. Then you can submit the form along with a demand draft for Rs. 1000/- in favour of "RS DSIMS" payable at Mumbai, to the DSIMS admissions office.
    Alternatively, you can purchase the application form directly from the institute (Rs.1000/- for the form).

    2. You will need to provide complete details about your education qualifications, your work experience, etc.
    3. DSIMS admissions office will check your application & then give you an admission ID. You will need to provide this ID for all further communication with DSIMS.
    4. If you are on the list of shortlisted candidates, you will be called for a Group Discussion and personal interview which will be conducted at the campus of DMIS. The times & dates of the GD & PI will be conveyed to you through e-mail and SMS.
    5. Successful candidates will get an offer from the admissions officer to join the management program. Within 15 days of this offer, you can accept or decline it. Once you do accept it, you will need to pay the program fee of Rs.55,000/-.
