B.A.(Honours) courses examination in Jadavpur University 2012-2013


This is to inform that Jadavpur University has published its application form, exam dates and procedures for taking admission in B.A. courses. Jadavpur University is a very reputed college in Kolkata, having dedicated departments for both Science and Arts.

B.A. Exam test on Bengali, Comparative Literature, Political Science, History, English in Jadavpur University


Jadavpur University is the most reputed colleges of West Bengal and India. It is both nationally and internationally famous for its outstanding results and 100% job placement over the years. The university has recently published its exam dates of the test that is going to be taken for the admission of B.A. courses.

Eligibility criteria (General category)


For Comparative Literature : At least 60% in aggregate with 60% marks in first and second language each.
For Bengali : At least 60% in aggregate with 60% marks in Bengali.
For History : At least 60% in aggregate.
For Political Science : At least 60% in aggregate.
For English : At least 70% in aggregate.

Procedure


Go to the Jadavpur Universitie's official website, www.juadmissions.com, and click the admission link. Then click faculty of Art link. Fill out the online form giving all the correct details that are asked. If you are from West Bengal board or any other board, your Class XII Registration Number / Roll Number / Application Number becomes your Login id to the website. After you have completed the form, submit it.
The web page would be redirected to a page to choose your course, which you would like to apply for. Next you will get to see your application form which you submitted and there would be other options, like to print out the bank Challan etc. Print out the bank Challan and take it to the State of Bank of India, preferably the one in the university campus that is in Raja SC Mullik Road (8B). The last date for submission of fees at the bank is on 12.06.2012 (4:30PM) You have to pay Rs.125 to the bank and you will get a few information which would be required in the next step.
Log in to your account in the university website and click the Bank Challan and Admit card option. There you will see, some information is required to fill up the blanks like, branch of the bank, branch code etc. Fill them up and then you will see that your fees have been received.
Next, just print out the admit card and paste a photograph on the desired section.
If any candidate wants to fill the form second time, he/she has to enter his/her H.S. or equivalent Registration No./Index No. followed by dup (Ex. If your H.S. or equivalent Registration No./Index No. is 5008456 then you have to enter 5008456dup).

Pattern of test


Generally, the test consists of questions on history, i.e. historical dates, events and authors and their writings. A student should have an overall idea of the famous poets and writers along with their noteworthy writings. Essays generally based on Indian culture, literature, politics and people are given. Full forms of abbreviations linked with India also come for 4 marks, carrying one marks each.
