  1. Keep in mind that you should not keep the potted plants in direct sunlight. Select a place in the balcony of your flat where the sun rays fall slanting - in the mornings and evenings.

  2. Do not congest all the plants in one place but see that there is enough room between the potted plants. This would be helpful in the free flow of air and thereby helps in the healthy growth of the plants.

  3. Another important thing to keep in mind is to use a watering can for watering the plants. So while watering the plants, spray water on the leaves and flowers so as to remove all the accumulated dirt from these parts and this will bring back the fresh look of the plants and flowers as well.

  4. And the most important part is maintaining cleanliness in and around the potted plants. While watering the plants, many a times the soil gets spilled out and leaves soil marks on the walls as well as on the floor which results in an ugly look.
