B.Ed. Admission process in Delhi University
Lots of students wants to take B.Ed. courses for their further studies after Graduation or Post Graduation. Here we will discuss the details about how to take admission in Delhi University for B.Ed. courses.
Admission process in Delhi University for B.Ed.
The admission process starts with the prospectus sale from Delhi University from the some branches of State Bank of India during the working schedule at official working days for bank. The banks following branches are selling the prospectus i)B-Block, Connaught Place ii)Gargi College, Siri Fort Road, iii)North Campus, Delhi University iv)Shahdara v) Sector 11, Dwarka vi) Prashant Vihar branch. The sale of prospectus generally starts at June's beginning and last for two weeks.
You can also bring the form by post from Central Institute of Education only. This process starts from first week of June and last for around 10 days.
The application can be submitted till 10 days after the passing of last date for sale for prospectus. The application can be submitted to three centers i) Shyama Prasad Mukherji College, Punjabi Bagh (West), New Delhi–110 026 ii) MV College of Education, Opposite Block– 9, Geeta Colony, Delhi – 110 031 and iii) CIE Department of Education, University of Delhi, Delhi – 110 007.
After completion of forms, the list for selected candidates who needs to sit for the entrance exam can be seen at the website http://cie.du.ac.in. This list usually announced at the last of the June. The candidate will be advised for the entrance test date which is generally scheduled one week after announcement of the list for candidates.
First list can be expected for the successful candidates who passed the entrance test successfully after one week of entrance test. Next three days is allotted for the admission procedure for the selected candidates from the first list.
If the necessary seats not filled up with first list then after the closure of admition for the first list, the second list appears. The next two working days is allotted for the admission of listed candidates.
If the necessary seats not filled up with second list then Delhi University displays the third list of the candidates. The next two days is allotted to the candidates for the admission in B.Ed course. Commencement of Classes for B.Ed.

The B.Ed course has both theoretical as well as practical classes and exam for completion of the course successfully. Part A which is a theory type of course is consist of Course I, Course II, Course III, Course IV and Course V. Course I is consist of Basic Ideas in educational theory with Session work having 25 marks and External exam of 75 marks.

Course II is consist of Educational Psychology with Session work having 25 marks and External exam of 75 marks. Course III is consist of Modern Indian Education with Session work having 25 marks and External exam of 75 marks.
Course III is consist of Modern Indian Education with Session work having 25 marks and External exam of 75 marks. Course IV is consist of Methodology of Teaching which is divided in two parts of 50 each marks for School Teaching Subject-I and School Teaching Subject-II divided in Session work having 15 marks and External exam of 35 marks.
Course V is consist of Compulsory Elective in which you can choose any one out of 18 subjects with Session work having 25 marks and External exam of 75 marks. The 18 subjects which can be chosen as per availability in the concerned institute are as follows like Social & Adult Education, School Library organization, School Evaluation, Primary Education in India, Peace education, Organization of Co-Curricular activities, Organization & administration of Pre-School education, History of education in India, Health and Physical education in India, Gender school and society, Education of children with special needs, Gender school and society, Educational technology, Education of backward children, Education of mental health, Computer education, Career guidance, Basic education, Art education.
Part B consists of Practical courses of value 500 marks. It has two parts dividing each into 250 marks. The two parts are as follows School experience programme or SEP and practical skills in teaching and Session practical work.
School experience programme is further divided into two parts with each 125 marks of School teaching subject-I and School teaching subject-II.
Session practical work is divided further into seven parts with Practical school assignments of 60 marks, Tutorial work of 50 marks, Psychology practical of 30 marks, Visual education of 30 marks, Work experience of 20 marks, Co-curricular activities including physical education of 50 marks and Community work of 10 marks.
By order from Delhi University the qualifying marks for B.Ed. is decided to be 40% in both written papers. The qualifying marks for Part A for the work done and written paper is fixed at 45%. The teaching pattern for B.Ed programme including teaching through lectures and though discussions and tutorials. It also includes school based experience, psychology practical's, visuals education and technology awareness programme for the course pursuers. There are further Co-curricular activities which is included with physical education. The B.Ed. programme timings for class's starts from Monday to Saturday except all public holidays from 09.00hours to 1700hours. When the School experience Programme or SEP training starts then students are expected to attend the various schools as per their operating schedule from the beginning of school till it closes. Teaching medium for B.Ed course and examination:
The candidates can choose the medium of teaching for Courses I, Courses II and Courses III, course IV and Course V in either English or Hindi. The Methodology of teaching languages coming under course IV can be as per the selected subjects language as understandable. The exams can be given in Hindi or English as per the selection of students while joining the course.Attendance for B.Ed. Course
As per the Delhi University rules and regulation a student cannot be able to take the exams if he fails to get a 75% attendance in the subject in the field of theoretical class, practical class or any other class related to course. Although 75% mentioned, still if a students need to have a leave for little long period than normally considered as emergency medical leaves, then they needs to seek the prior permission for leave through their concerned Tutor or School Supervisor to be addressed to Head of Department or Principal.Hostel facility for B.Ed. course
At present only CIE has the facility of hostel for the students. Even those students who are not in CIE and are in MVCOE and SPMC can apply for the hostel in CIE immediately after their admission. The facility is not too big with two small dormitory type facilities for men and women separately.
Generally the academic session for the B.Ed. programme starts in the second half of the month of July.Eligibility Condition for B.Ed. course
The student needs some basic criteria mention below to be considered for entrance test and after their successful completion can join the course. Bachelor Degree Students requires 50% marks for those who passed in 10+2+3 or 11 +2+2 pattern and 55% marks for 10+2+2 or 11 +3 pattern. The both the pattern needs to secure the 50% marks in the 2 subjects as per his selection of the subject from Urdu, Tamil, Sanskrit, Punjabi, Political Science, Physics, Music, Mathematics, History, Hindi, Geography, English, Economics, Chemistry, Biological Science, Bangla and Art.
Post graduate candidate need to secure 50% marks in any of one of the subject from Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy, Commerce, Urdu, Tamil, Sanskrit, Punjabi, Political Science, Physics, Music, Mathematics, History, Hindi, Geography, English, Economics, Chemistry, Biological Science, Bangla and Art. If the subjects were different in Graduation level and post graduation level then student need to secure 50% marks in the subject in graduation level.
Post Graduate Candidate who didn't have studied the listed 18 subjects then in any subject it's 50% aggregate and must be studied two subjects in graduation level with an aggregate score of the 50% marks in them for which he going to take entrance test.
