Story and review of 'Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola'
We are all well aware of Vishal Bharadwaj's to the point writings and faultless shootings and compilations. But in this much anticipated film having key roles of Imran Khan and Anushka Sharma, that sizzling factor takes a long time to get unveiled. That is to say, it covers quite a good number of scenes to unfold the real story which is laid inside it.
The central theme of this film is possession of lands in an illegal way. To tell you in a more elaborated way, the whole story of this movie features five principal characters – Matru (Imran), Bijlee (Anushka), Harry Mandola (Pankaj Kapoor, playing the role of Bijlee's industrialist father), local politician (Shabana Azmi) and his son Badal (Arya Babbar), who is dumb in nature. If you open the real chapter, the story is like this – as known for saying, 'relations are made in equal etiquette families, Bijlee's marriage is set by her father with Badal, the son of their local politician. In the mean time, Matru, who is Harry's man during crisis, captivates Bijlee's mind and vice versa. The story takes a good turn as should be and as we have seen many typical love-featured films. But still, the dialogues, actions and physical movements do not seem to be that excellent (though not bad). Leave the few good item songs with music, the movie will be rated much lower than what I have given above. Definitely, its new style songs seem to be its only major assets. Apart from this, the overall performance should be certified as standard, not a big super hit I think.
Some key scenes to watch are – Shabana Azmi's portrait as a politician and the way he delivers his look and how he speaks, Anushka's well known naughty bites in an open manner, Imran's well harvested countryside heroic look and dialogues in natural way of accent (maybe he had to be more aggressive in words and physical movements) and the songs which have good bits to dance.

Apart from some minor hiccups, the movie seems to be pretty okay and deserves the due credit. It would have been much better if the characters had done some better practices before the final shot. Anyway, it is nonetheless a good teamwork. Although not in the beginning, I would still lift my thumbs up to Vishal Bhardwaj in late. I expect a good average business turnover from the film for his team, though not a very big deal. Wish him for some cracking releases in near future!
In this movie I like acting of Pankaj Kapoor and Shabana Aajmi, Anushka and Impran play their role very much and they shows their keen interest to play their roles.
I am tremendous fan of Pankaj Kapoor, what a actor. He is fit for Mandola role, he play a role of drunk person very well and he also play a good role of strict Jamindar.
