Planning in the following are prime before traveling. Planning the period of travel, Planning the places of travel, Planning the persons accompanied - to avoid last minute confusion. While planning the internet is highly useful as we can get the names of hotels, lodges, places of interests simply by sitting in one place. Even advance booking of lodges are also possible and helpful.
After planning, the booking of tickets in Air, Train/Bus in advance is highly helpful to avoid last minute rush. Here we can book the tickets, in case of train, in advance by going to the Booking office in advance and if the traveling members are more than 6, we can book by approaching the booking office superintendent for initial approval with the list of persons traveling under 'Bulk Booking' so as we can accommodate ourselves in a same coach. In this case another advantage is we can share our food items easily. After booking the tickets, we can take a print out of the train schedules for the trains through which we planned to travel, through the website:www.indianrail.gov.in under train schedule and copies could have taken and distributed among the group persons so as to enable the halt timings of each station as well is good for children to know the stations on the way to their destination with joy.
Travel with less luggage:
Carrying Luggage is become a big problem when going a trip in group. Here basic items, like tooth paste, Mirror, creams for mosquito etc., can be carried as a common. Carrying Water Immersion Heater, Mosquito coils, Mosquito repellents, Match boxes, candles and additional stands for mosquito coils is highly helpful.
Wearing valuable jewels like rings, diamond earrings, nose rings, chains other than mangalsutra are to be avoided. Carrying much cash is to be avoided as it is easy nowadays to fetch cash through ATM s.
Important item for those who carrying infants:
It is good to have a thermos flask (preferably unbreakable).
It is good to have the sugar as powdered for mixing with baby food (milk powder etc.,)
Additional napkins, diapers waste cloths or cleaning tissues is highly helpful.
Additional care must be followed while traveling:
While sleeping it is good for ladies to cover their bodies fully to avoid situations like dress loosing etc.,
While traveling in night buses, it is good to alert ourselves when the bus stops for tea/food break as possibility of stealing luggage by others by using the situation.
While traveling in trains it is best not to get down in stations en-route unnecessarily. Not to consume oily items to avoid food poisoning.
When alighting from the train/bus, it is good to all passengers to move immediately away from the entrance as it is helpful to boarding/alighting other passengers. If going in groups, all luggage could be unloading quickly by passing among the group persons and keeping in one place under the supervision of ladies in the group.
Avoid outside foods in train and stations to possible extent. Never alight from the train en route for coffee/tea etc., without knowing the time of halt at that station.
Further to the above, it is good to talk the train ticket checkers for the cancellation of tickets in case some persons not accompanying for any reason. There was a procedure to collect Ticket Deposit receipt from the checker and now they, checkers are noting the same in a separate list through which we can get refund in the counters (wherein we booked earlier) by producing the tickets along with the forms for cancellation.
You cannot carry your cash in a wallet so keep your all your credit cards and debit cards in a special wallet that is made of plastic. You can also carry a cheque book and a pass book if you are traveling within your country. If you have your valuable belongings such as jewelries or financial instruments, do not keep them on the topside of the bag and neither keep it fully below the luggage because the thieves are fully aware that people keep it right below. Do not carry excessive luggage and properly fold your clothes so that many clothes can fit into your bag. Iron your clothes so that you can comfortably place them in your bag and they occupy less space.
