Admissions will be open for three campuses of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham which are the Bengaluru campus, the Amritapuri campus and the Coimbatore campus. Students seeking admission to B. Tech. programmes in these campuses have to first undergo an all India level entrance test known as the Amrita Engineering Entrance Examination which is to be conducted on 21st April 2013. There are two eligibility criteria for admission to B. Tech. programmes in the Amrita University. They are as follows:
(A) Only candidates who are born on or after July 1, 1992 can apply for the courses.
(B) A student should have one of the following educational qualification:
(i) The candidate should clear 10+2 or any equivalent exam with 60% or above score in Maths, 55% or above score in Physics and Chemistry separately. The overall aggregate has to be 60%
(ii) Any State Board of Technical Education approved Diploma in Engineering with a minimum of 60% score.

The Amrita Engineering Entrance Exam will be conducted on 21st April 2013 from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M for three hours. The results of the exam will be declared around four weeks after the date of the exam. Based on the rank list candidates will be invited for counselling for admission in the months of May and June. Every candidate will be sent a counselling call letter if he or she makes the cut. Moreover the schedule of the counselling will be available on the university website after the declaration of results. Before a candidate appears for the seating allotment, he or she has to pay Rs 30,000 as a portion of the tuition fees in the form of a Demand Draft. The candidate has to furnish all original certificates including marks cards and hall tickets which are likely to be retained by officials from the Amrita University. The first year B.
