Brief information of Sastra University Tamil Nadu
Established in 1984, the Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology and Research Academy, better known to the general public as SASTRA University, came into the international limelight when it held the world record for the highest number of campus recruitments from a single company when TCS Tata Consultancy Services recruited 1755 students from the Sastra campus. The record was broken in a year by another university in the same state of Tamil Nadu, i.e. by the Vellore University, but the figures spoke volumes of what the University had and is achieving in the field of quality education and the kind of corporate ready graduates that they are consistently producing. The Sastra University is a deemed university, the very first in the state of Tamil Nadu, and is located at Thirumalaisamudram and besides its on campus programmes which it is well acclaimed for, it also is gaining significant ground when it comes to distance learning programmes.
